BEATRICE WEISS (Gould) of Edison, NJ died on May 19, 2004 at Westfield Center Genesis Elder Care, Westfield, NJ. She was 88 year old. Mrs. Weiss was born in Montreal, Canada and had lived in Irvington, New York and Florida before moving to Edison, NJ, 7 years ago, where she resided until her time of death. She had worked for Israeli Bonds, a Non-Profit Organizations as National Director, Woman's Division. She was also on the National Board of Hadassah. She is survived by her two sons Jeffrey of Edison and Stephen of Baltimore, MD. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Hadassah planning dinner and auction Feb. 8 in Columbia The Howard County chapter of Hadassah will hold its second dinner and auction for members and friends Feb. 8 at Coho Grill in Hobbit's Glen, Columbia. An elegant dinner and silent auction are planned, with an opportunity to bid on gift items, toys, gift certificates to local stores and service organizations, weekend getaways and other items. The $30 cover charge includes nonalcoholic beverages and dairy or pareve (neither milk nor meat)

On November 3, 2003 NORMAN SMELKINSON in Jerusalem; father of Bonnie, Mindy and Margie; grandfather of Aviv and Zevi and brother of Marvin Smelkinson, Paul Smelkinson and Rita Bleich. Memorial Service on Wednesday, November 5 at the home of Rita Bleich. Shiva, Tuesday through Sunday morning at the home of Rita Bleich. Funeral was November 3 in Israel; Burial on Mount of Olives. Sophie G. Mazer, a former secretary and homemaker, died of an aneurysm Friday at Sinai Hospital. The longtime Pikesville resident was 80. Born Sophie Grossman in Baltimore, she was raised in South Baltimore and Forest Park, where she graduated from high school in 1940. During the late 1940s and early 1950s, she was a secretary at the Talmudical Academy and later for the J.K. Ruff Real Estate Co. At the time of her death, Mrs. Mazer was a member and team leader of the local chapter of Recovery Inc., an organization that promotes emotional and mental health.
