A 31-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday night in Westport, capping a weekend in Baltimore that saw at least 13 people shot in 11 incidents. Police said Kareem Guest of the 2700 block of Maisel Court was found about 10 p.m. suffering from gunshot wounds in the 2400 block of Maisel Court. Guest was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:36 p.m., said Detective Nicole Monroe, a police spokeswoman. Additional details, including a motive or suspect, were not available.

Police probe 2 shootings that left five people injured Baltimore police are investigating two separate shootings. One man was shot in the face and another in the foot about 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of S. Dallas Court in the Perkins Homes public housing complex in East Baltimore, police said. No further information was available. About an hour later, three men were shot in the 3700 block of Glenmore Ave. in Northeast Baltimore, police said. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found the first victim, 19, with gunshot wounds to his back and foot.

Police in Baltimore County said Thursday that they were investigating two separate shootings, each of which resulted in injuries to two young men. Both incidents took place Wednesday evening. In the first, police were summoned to the 3700 block of White Pine Road in Essex after gunfire was heard in the area. Officers found two men, one of them 22 years old, the other 23, both of whom had been shot, according to Cpl. Michael Hill, a spokesman for the Baltimore County Police Department. The younger man was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center with a wound that Hill said was not life-threatening.

A Baltimore County teenager was convicted Monday of killing a 23-year-old man in Middle River last summer. A Circuit Court jury found Avar Cornell Tunstall, 18, of the 4200 block of Maple Path Circle near White Marsh guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Terrell Scott in the first block of Maple Drive. Tunstall was also convicted of two handgun charges. Donald Daneman, Tunstall's attorney, said he would file a motion for a new trial, which must be done within 10 days. Sentencing is scheduled Oct. 6. Prosecutors said they plan to seek life without parole.

Man held in burning of grandmother An 85-year-old woman was in serious condition yesterday at an area hospital after a male relative apparently set her on fire during an argument at her West Baltimore home, a city Fire Department spokesman said. Their names were not immediately released. The man, who reportedly has mental problems, was arrested a short time later, said Detective Nicole Monroe, a city police spokesman. Battalion Chief Kevin Cartwright said the woman and her 29-year-old grandson were arguing at her home in the 1400 block of Poplar Grove St. when he allegedly doused her with alcohol and set her on fire about 5:15 p.m. Cartwright said the woman ran from the house as flames burned her head, face and upper body.

Annapolis man killed; woman turns gun on self An Annapolis woman fatally shot a man she lived with before turning the gun on herself early Tuesday, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday. Helen E. Clapsaddle, 43, and Michael J. Missimer, 39, were found dead of gunshot wounds in the master bedroom of their apartment in the 600 block of Admiral Drive minutes after a woman called police and said, "Get us or you will find two dead bodies," police said. Clapsaddle had been having financial problems and domestic issues with Missimer, police said.

City police and homicide detectives were called to East Baltimore early yesterday for a man suffering from serious gunshot wounds, police said. Details were not immediately available about the victim, said Officer Troy Harris, a police spokesman. Police went to the 700 block of N. Luzerne Ave. about 12:55 a.m. and found a man bleeding. He was taken to a hospital and was on life support late yesterday.

Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Canton last week, and said two people shot last week have died of their injuries. Alaina Ciara High, 22, was found about 9:30 p.m. Dec. 23 in the 800 block of S. Bouldin St. with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. Witnesses reported hearing the shots and saw a dark-colored vehicle leave the scene. A police source said that High might have been pushed from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. High's last known address was in the 2800 block of E. Biddle St., about two miles from the site of the shooting, and court records show she had been arrested four times in the past six months on drug charges, the most recent arrest coming a week before she was killed.

Baltimore police were investigating whether there is a connection between the shooting last night of a man in Southwest Baltimore and the shooting of another man who showed up wounded at a hospital shortly after the first incident. A man was shot in the stomach after 9 p.m. in the 2100 block of Hollins St., said Officer Nicole Monroe, a police spokeswoman. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, she said. About a half-hour later, another man arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds and did not initially divulge where he was when he was shot, Monroe said.

A 44-year-old man died from gunshot wounds after Baltimore police officers found him last night lying on a West Baltimore street, authorities said. Officer Troy Harris, a police spokesman, identified the victim as Bernard R. Wallace, who lived in the 2900 block of Belmont Ave. About 11:30 last night, officers were called to the 1300 block of Bloomingdale Road to check on reports of gunfire. Police found Wallace with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body, Harris said. He was taken to a hospital, where he died at 7:15 a.m., Harris said.
