A 20-year-old man died early Friday after being shot multiple times in North Baltimore. Police responded to reports of shots fired at 11:45 p.m. Thursday in the 2600 block of Mathews St., in the Better Waverly neighborhood, and found Dominique Barnes in the street suffering from gunshot wounds. Barnes, who according to court records had lived in the nearby 2600 block of Greenmount Ave., was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he died at 12:24 a.m. Police had no motives and said the case remains open.

Baltimore police pulled over a 22-year-old man for driving the wrong way on a street early Saturday when the victim opened up the door and fell out of vehicle, telling police he had been shot. Lanell Ausby was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police spokesman Sgt. Anthony Smith said. He was one of two homicide victims in the city overnight. Ausby was shot multiple times in the torso around 1:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle in Parklane, Smith said.

He resigned as president in 1966 but continued as a director until 1980.Thelma Lansky, 89, the widow of reputed mobster Meyer Lansky, died Saturday after a stroke. Mrs. Lansky testified on her husband's behalf and helped win his acquittal during a high-profile tax evasion case in 1973.

It was a little before 10 Tuesday night, and Shawnta Little had just given her son his five-minute warning. A few minutes later, she heard a beating on the door that would lead to nearly 48 hours in Johns Hopkins Children's Center, where after continuous prayer and medical tests, Little would make the final decision of her 12-year-old son's life: letting his body succumb to the gun shots that had left him brain dead. "We just kept praying, and they did every test they could do to be absolutely sure," Little said, a day after she authorized doctors to take her son off life support.

An unidentified man with gunshot wounds was found on an East Baltimore street about 1: 10 a.m. yesterday, and he died about 30 minutes later at Johns Hopkins Hospital, police said.Responding to a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of N. Chapel St., Eastern District police found the wounded man lying in the street.Police had made no arrest and knew of no motive for the slaying. A few weeks ago, while hunting with friends, a companion stopped to examine a broadhead arrow found earlier in the day near a deer hunter's tree stand.As the hunter examined the arrow, he rested his shotgun in the crook of his arm with the muzzle pointing to the ground.The gun went off, the shot missing his right foot by an inch or two.It was an accident that might have been the cause of serious injury.The hunter was knowledgeable. Baltimore County Police are investigating a Sunday morning shooting in Owings Mills. The incident was reported at 10 a.m. in the 4700 block of Buxton Circle, said police spokesman Cpl. Mike Hill. Officers went to that location and found a 22-year-old man outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, Hill said. He was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment. The victim told investigators that he was not from the area but was staying at a nearby home, the spokesman said.

A man was fatally shot about 5 p.m. Wednesday in West Baltimore, according to police. Police responded to the 2000 block of Frederick Avenue and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Det. Nicole Monroe, a police spokeswoman. The man was transported to an unidentified area hospital, where he died, Monroe said. The location is about two blocks south of Bon Secours Hospital. Homicide detectives are investigating, Monroe said. No further details were immediately available.

City police are investigating three homicides after two men died Tuesday of recently sustained gunshot wounds and a third man was shot and killed in the East Baltimore Midway neighborhood the same day. A 28-year-old man shot multiple times last week died at 10:34 a.m. Tuesday at Sinai Hospital. Christopher Mobley had been found wounded the evening of May 1 in the 3400 block of Piedmont Ave. in the Hanlon-Longwood neighborhood, a few blocks west of Mondawmin Mall. A 19-year-old man shot Sunday in the Seton Hill neighborhood died at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Three men were shot Tuesday night in Edgewood, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Police first received a report of shots fired in the 1900 block of Edgewater Drive shortly after 8 p.m., said Monica Worrell, a sheriff's spokeswoman. There they located two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One man, 43, was transported by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. The second man, 26, was transported by ambulance to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. A third shot man, 37, arrived shortly afterward at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center after being transported there by family members, Worrell said.

Baltimore city police found the body of an unidentified man Sunday afternoon in the Central Park Heights neighborhood and are investigating the death as a homicide. Officers were called to the 3000 block Oakley Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. The victim, who was discovered inside a vacant home, had sustained a gunshot wound to the head, police said. The man who police say shot and critically wounded a co-rector and killed another worker at an Ellicott City church last week was angry about being told to limit his visits to the food pantry, church leaders said in a statement on Saturday. The shootings of the two women have plunged the congregation of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, founded in Howard County in 1842, into mourning. The church has announced a private service for Sunday at 10 a.m. The statement from the church says a custodian found the victims in an office.

A man who was shot while trying to rob a business Wednesday was later located by police at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said. Officers responded to the hospital at 9:10 p.m. after receiving word that a man with a gunshot wound to the chest had walked in. An investigation showed the man had been shot while attempting to rob a store in the 3600 block of Parkdale Drive, just north of Druid Hill Park, police said. No further details were immediately available.

A 22-year-old man was found fatally shot inside a vehicle that had crashed into two others in East Baltimore Sunday night, one of three murders over the weekend in Baltimore. Officers responded to a call of a shooting about 10:45 p.m. and found the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the 1400 block of Holbrook Street, just east of Greenmount Cemetery. The unidentified man was slumped over the steering wheel of his Mitsubishi Diamante, which had collided into a Nissan truck that was pushed into another vehicle.

Gun violence penetrated several city neighborhoods Tuesday and resulted in several critical injuries. Four men were shot and a fifth man appears to have taken his life, according to police. Shortly before 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 900 block of Iris Ave. in the East Baltimore neighborhood of Orangeville to find a man dead from a gunshot wound to the head, according to Sgt. Valencia Nock, a police spokeswoman. Autopsy results are pending, but police believe the wound was self-inflicted.

City police are investigating a homicide in the Evergreen Lawn neighborhood Wednesday night. Officers found a 45-year-old man on the front steps of a home in the 2500 block of Harlem Ave. at about 10:45 p.m. He was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died at 11:17 p.m. Police have also identified the victim of a shooting Tuesday in the Forest Park area.
