A masked gunman robbed a branch bank in a Millersville shopping center early Saturday, county police reported.According to the police report, the gunman walked into Carrollton Bank, in the 600 block of Old Mill Road in Northway Plaza, at 9:22 a.m. and ordered the tellers to the floor.He then took out a revolver and ordered the tellers to stand up and empty their cash drawers. The tellers gave the man the cash and he walked out.

A gunman broke through the glass door of a Gambrills gas station early Sunday morning and made off with $800, county police said yesterday.Investigators said the gunman entered the Waugh Chapel Exxon on Route 3 at 2:25 a.m. and ordered the clerk to the floor.After taking the money, he escaped in a small, black car driven by another man, police said.Go to jail, help MDASpend time in jail to benefit The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).Jailbirds will be picked up by Maryland state troopers and transported to "serve time" on Nov. 16 at ERA/Blake Realty in Pasadena.

A gunman robbed a Glen Burnie gas station and convenience store Wednesday of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said yesterday.The bandit walked into Uncle Marvin's Oasis in the 7700 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. about 11:05 p.m. and asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes. While the clerk got the cigarettes, the man showed a handgun he had tucked in his waistband and demanded all the money from the cash register, police said.The clerk put the money in a brown bag and handed it to the robber, who fled the store and headed south on Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard.

Police are looking for a gunman who shot a teen-ager in the back near the Pumphrey Recreation Center early yesterday.A 17-year-old boy was walking along Berlin Avenue just after midnight on his way to adance at the center when witnesses say a gunman fired four shots, one of which struck the teen on the right side of his back.The victim was taken to North Arundel Hospital, where he was in stable condition yesterday.Police say the suspect is a black man, 18 to 25 years old, and about 6 feet tall.

A man with a gun tried to rob a Wendy's restaurant in Laurel Saturday night but left when an employee told him the safe could not be opened, according to Anne Arundel County police. Police said the incident occurred about 10:20 at the restaurant in the 3500 block of Russett Green East, which in a sprawling housing development near Route 198 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Police said Sunday that the man did wanted money from the safe and did not take any from the cash drawers.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Lou Williams takes shots on the court, but prevented them from being fired recently in a Philadelphia neighborhood. Williams told the Philadelphia Daily News that he was approached by a gun-wielding man while stopped in his car Christmas Eve. But he talked the gunman out of the crime, then took him to McDonald's. βA guy tried to rob me but decided not to because of whatever I do in the community,β Williams told the paper. βHe's a Lou Williams fan, so he didn't rob me.β Williams said the man knocked on the driver's window with a gun drawn.

A jazz club owner who was with Kenneth N. Harris moments before the former Baltimore City Council member was shot to death said in court Tuesday that when a gunman approached them outside the club and ordered them back inside, Harris blurted out an expletive and then his wife's name, Annette. Harris, who was spending the evening with another woman, disregarded the gunman's commands and "broke off to get back to his car," where the woman was sitting, said the club owner, Keith A. Covington.

A gunman robbed a Glen Burnie pizza shop Sunday night of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.The bandit walked into the Pizza Express in the first block of Aquahart Road about 11:45 p.m. and ordered the clerk to give him all the money from the cash register, police said.The gunman took the money and ran. The clerk was not injured, police said.
