The North Point Library is offering a free six-week course to help smokers quit. Greta Brand, a health consultant, will lead the weekly one-hour sessions that start at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The class, paid for with a grant from the Tobacco Restitution Fund, includes free nicotine gum, patches and lozenges. Registration is requested. On Monday, April 18, 2005, MURRAY G. CHILDS, age 80, of Frederick, MD, beloved husband of the late Marie P. Childs, passed away at Northampton Manor in Frederick. A veteran of WWII, Mr. Childs is survived by nieces Patricia H. Savage, Greta L. Lockner, and Anne Marie Race; nephews Richard Cox, Jr. and John Cox, and several grand-nieces and nephews. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105.

O'KEEFE; devoted husband of Carol O'Keefe (nee: Bieda); loving father of his son Dennis O'Keefe and daughter-in-law Greta, daughter Kimberly and son-in-law Edward McCaffrey and adoring Pop-Pop to Ian O'Keefe, and Liam and Caroline McCaffrey passed away after a valiant battle with cancer.
