As of 9 a.m. Thursday, traffic was slow on the inner loop of I-695 near Belair Road, due to an accident. Accidents were slowing traffic on the outer loop of I-695 near Greenspring Avenue in Baltimore County, on U.S. 40 eastbound near I-695 in Baltimore County and on Eastern Boulevard near White Marsh Boulevard in Baltimore County. There were no major delays on Baltimore area transit systems.

On March 2, 2005, LOUISE LIPPINCOTT THOMPSON, passed away, she was born November 17, 1914. Lousie was a longtime resident of the Greater Baltimore area; beloved wife of the late Albert Fleming Thompson; devoted mother of David, Nancy and Jim. She is survived by her children, and five grandchildren who loved her dearly: Camille, Caitlin, Emily, Bridget, Daniel. A Memorial Service will be held April 2 at 11 A.M. at St. Thomas Church, Owings Mills, Maryland, followed by a reception at Blakehurst, 1055 W. Joppa Rd. in Towson.

As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, traffic was slow on Pulaski Highway and Rossville Boulevard, due to an accident. Accidents were slowing traffic at North Point Road and Quad Avenue in Dundalk, Cross Country Boulevard and Greenspring Avenue in Baltimore County, and the inner loop of I-695 at the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore City. A utility problem was slowing traffic at Perring Parkway and Hillsway Avenue in Baltimore County. There were no major delays reported on Baltimore area transit systems.

State Highway Administration officials will be closing ramps on the Jones Falls Expressway (Interstate 83) and the Baltimore Beltway (Interstate 695) during the next few days for roadwork.From 9 p.m. today to 5 a.m. tomorrow, the inner loop ramp from the JFX northbound to eastbound I-695 will be closed. One lane will be closed at 7 p.m. when crews begin work, officials said.Motorists will be directed to follow the outer loop, westbound I-695, to Exit 22 at Greenspring Avenue, then loop back to eastbound I-695.

Baltimore County police and fire personnel throughout the region are participating today in the funeral for Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Department member Gene Kirchner, who died Thursday of injuries he suffered in a fire last week in Reisterstown. The funeral was held beginning at 1 p.m., at Har Sinai Congregation, on Walnut Avenue in Owings Mills. County police say Walnut Avenue was closed between Greenspring Avenue and Park Heights Avenue beginning at 11:30 a.m., and will reopen when the procession has left Har Sinai.

An Owings Mills man was killed Sunday morning after his car crashed into the back of a tractor trailer on the Baltimore Beltway in Pikesville, officials said. Bennie Lee Shaw Jr., 34, was driving on the outer loop of the Beltway near Greenspring Avenue at 4:36 a.m. when his 2005 Audi A8 rear-ended a 1999 International tractor trailer, according to the Maryland State Police. Shaw was trapped in the car and was rescued by Baltimore County firefighters, but was declared dead at the scene, according to the Maryland State Police.
