Lenny's Deli added a third location in Harborplace a few months ago, and just last week it threw itself a grand opening. Lenny's still operates in Harborplace and Owings Mills, but this expansion wasn't without its risks. So far, so good, says reviewer John Lindner, who discovered there a praiseworthy Reuben. Here's what else Lindner found at the new Lenny's Deli , which, I'm happy to pass along, serves breakfast all day.

The joke was on Magooby's when the comedy club had to push back its grand opening last week. Instead, the club will break in its new Timonium digs Friday with a show featuring Mickey Cucchiella, Marc Unger, Sonny Fuller and Rain Pryor. The delay was caused by "an issue with power," which is now fixed, according to founder and co-owner Andrew Unger. The new space has theater-style seating for 400, higher ceilings and is closer to the Beltway. The club was formerly nestled in the basement of the Bowman restaurant.

The county's first transitional housing program for homeless men will celebrate its grand opening Sunday, but its doors will remain closed to the men waiting to move there. A water-sprinkler problem is delaying the operation of the Fouse Center in Glen Burnie, which will provide shelter, job and substance-abuse counseling and help for its residents in finding permanent homes. Eight people are waiting to move into the five-bedroom house, said the Fouse Center's director, Mario Berninzoni.

After two and a half years in the works, Liam Flynn’s Ale House will have its official grand opening Saturday at 4 p.m. Flynn said the bar, which looks like “a traditional ale house," will serve ales predominantly. “We want to specialise in ales, Irish whiskey, and ciders,” he said. It will also carry 15 beers on draft and is planning on adding food by the end of the summer. For payment, the bar will accept BNotes, the local currency, in addition to cash and credit. Flynn used to run the Pint-Size Pub in Mt. Vernon but closed it three years ago. He’s been slowly renovating the space at 22 W. North Ave since then, employing architectural salvage as one of the main components of the construction.

Just 77 days before Bear Branch Nature Center's grand opening, volunteers busied themselves yesterday, installing cabinets for a nonfunctional kitchen and preparing exhibits.Bill Barrows of Manchester helped put the finishing touches on a kitchen in the facility's exhibit hall, which will help children learn about recycling and minimizing waste. Money to build the kitchen -- complete with nonworking models of a stove and sink -- came from a $1,500 grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust Fund, Mr. Barrows said.

People for a County Police: A Rally or a Fiasco?I recently attended the "grand opening" of the headquarters of the People for a County Police. Unfortunately, neither The Sun for Harford County nor any other Harford County newspaper sent a reporter to cover the event. . . .The grand opening was . . . not so grand. Although the People for a County Police invited the public, representatives of law enforcement agencies and every politician in Harford County to attend its grand opening and had enough catered food to feed hundreds, only three politicians showed up. Guests, other than members of the police union, were at all times outnumbered by a small group of protesters, including me, who carried picket signs opposing a county police.
