Government Offices

Howard County government offices, courts and public libraries will be closed tomorrow in observance of Veterans Day.The Alpha Ridge Landfill, curbside recycling and trash collection will continue regular Monday schedules.

Public schools in Baltimore will be closed tomorrow for the primary election. The school administration and all other city offices will be open, but teachers and students should not report.Tomorrow also is Defenders' Day in Maryland. All government offices and schools in the metropolitan area will be open, except in Anne Arundel County, where government offices will be closed. Libraries and public schools in Anne Arundel County will be open, and trash will be collected.

This schedule will be in effect in the Baltimore area today, Lincoln's Birthday:* Baltimore City: City government offices will be closed and no trash will be picked up, but public schools will be open.* Elsewhere: County government offices will be open, and other services will be provided in these Central Maryland counties -- Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford and Howard.* Courts: open.* Mail: to be delivered.

Harford County government offices will be closed tomorrow for Veterans Day. The Harford County Waste Disposal Center will be closed, but Waste to Energy will be open. Harford transit will operate on a limited schedule. Harford County Public Library and senior centers are closed. Public schools are open.

WESTMINSTER - The Carroll County Government offices will be closed Monday in observance of Veterans Day.The County Office Building will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday.Northern Landfill and Hoods Mill Landfill will be open Monday. Landfill hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Closings planned for Memorial Day Howard County government offices, courts, library branches and the landfill will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day. No recycling or trash service will be available. Trash will be collected the next day for Monday and Tuesday routes. Recycling for Monday routes will be collected June 3. Parking meters must be fed, and parking regulations will be in effect on the holiday.
