Is Anthony Mason the missing piece that will put the Milwaukee Bucks into this season's NBA Finals, or just the kind of distraction a team of already fragile personalities doesn't need? Don't look at Milwaukee's 5-1 record going into last night's game against Utah as an indication of what Mason gives the Bucks. Look at the box score from Wednesday's victory over the Washington Wizards, and listen to what Mason said afterward. In 36 minutes, Mason didn't attempt a single shot. In fact, the only shot he took came after the game in the team's dressing room.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The day before his team took on Purdue in the Southeast Regional semifinals, Kansas coach Roy Williams paid homage to superstar forward Glenn Robinson, then reminded reporters that a one-man team cannot win basketball games.Last night at Thompson-Boling Arena, Williams' Jayhawks fell victim to a two-man assault.Robinson, Purdue's amazing 6-foot-8 junior forward who is the premier player in the country, led the charge once again with a game-high 44 points. But teammate Cuonzo Martin gave Kansas more headaches by adding a season-high 29 points, including 20 in the second half, as the top-seeded Boilermakers held off several determined Kansas runs to take an 83-78 victory.
