The most highly anticipated game to date in the Cal Ripken World Series is scheduled for today, as undefeated teams from Lexington, Ky., and Glen Allen, Va., meet at 3 p.m. Both teams are 2-0 and sit tied atop the National League division. Glen Allen defeated Aberdeen, 20-0, on Saturday and shut out Scott County, Mo., 12-0, on Sunday. Lexington has beaten Egg Harbor Township, N.J., 10-2, and Aberdeen, 19-0. The Glen Allen pitching staff has not surrendered a hit. Jacob Mayers and R.C. Orlan combined to no-hit Aberdeen, and Beau Flinchum repeated the feat against Scott County.

Host Aberdeen will open at 8 tomorrow night against Glen Allen, Va., the Southeast Region champion, in the feature game of the fourth Cal Ripken World Series. The game will be the fifth on the opening day of the tournament for 12-and-under teams, and coach Ken Wilson's squad will likely have its hands full against Glen Allen. Jacob Mayers pitched a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts as Glen Allen stopped Jupiter, Fla., 2-0, in the Southeast Region final in Goldsboro, N.C. Mayers also had two hits, including one that brought in the second run. Teddy Kozak added two hits for the Virginia team.

Jacob Mayers had his best knuckle curve when he needed it - in the top of the sixth inning yesterday in Glen Allen, Va.'s thrilling, 3-2 victory over Lexington, Ky., in a battle of unbeatens in the National League of the Cal Ripken World Series for 12-year-olds in Aberdeen. Glen Allen moved atop the standings at 3-0 and clinched a berth in Friday's single-elimination competition that will include the first- and second- place finishers after the round robin in the American and National leagues and the top four teams from the International League.

Police were seeking last night a 23-year-old man in connection with the fatal drive-by shooting yesterday of a 14-year-old boy who was walking in the 500 block of Glen Allen Drive in West Baltimore.Police said Brandon C. Lindsey of the 4100 block of Mountwood Road and another teen-ager were walking on Glen Allen Drive near Edmondson Avenue about 4:55 p.m. when someone in a gray and black Nissan 300ZX with temporary District of Columbia tags DX13205 fired at least one shot at Brandon, hitting him in the chest.
