On May 24, 2003, JACK H. GILBERT; beloved husband of the late Lois E. Gilbert (nee Boone); devoted father of Jeffrey D. Gilbert and Cherie L. McConnaughy; loving grandfather of Brent D. Umphlett, Cale R. McConnaughy and the late William L. Umphlett, Jr. A Funeral Service will be held at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Road (beltway exit 26A), on Wednesday at 9 A.M. Interment Parkwood Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M.

On July 28, 2006 GILBERT. Friends may call at the family owned MARCH FUNERAL HOME EAST, 1101 E. North Avenue on Wednesday after 8:30 a.m. where the family will receive friends on Thursday at 9 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at 9:30 a.m.

MICHAEL ALLAN GILBERT, 57, of Jacksonville exited down stage left on May 12, 2005. Mr. Gilbert was a Senior Management Analyst for the department of Children and Families, finishing a career that involved work in the Baltimore area as well as Central Florida before coming to Jacksonville. Michael worked for years in theatre, enjoyed music, good food, a game of Hearts whether it was good or not, and in the meantime managed to gather around him a most amazing group of friends in the course of his life.
