Maybe it was too nice out to protest. Or maybe no one cared what a few hundred conservatives were talking about in this one-party state. But only about 10 people convened Saturday with signs outside the DoubleTree Hotel in Annapolis to oppose Pamela Geller, best known for her opposition to the Ground Zero mosque and her ad campaigns linking the concept of jihad with mass murder. She was the opening speaker at the Maryland Conservative Action Network (MDCAN) conference held the same day at the hotel.

YASMIN GELLER couldn't sleep until she flew her carpenters to their Illinois headquarters and back to Green Spring Valley to rework the posts that she thought marred the contemporary lines of the 23-foot spiral staircase in her new home. The maple-and-glass staircase - a showstopper - had to be just right. "I blew out my flip-flop, stepped on a pop top, cut my heel, had to cruise on back home ..." -- Jimmy Buffett, "Margaritaville" When Buffett wrote those lyrics in 1977, the flip-flop was still beach attire, engineered to do no more than shield your feet from a hot boardwalk or a sharp shell. That might seem like needless advice, but the good people at the American Red Cross of Central Maryland found themselves in a frantic spoon search yesterday morning after Uri Geller stopped in. To be fair, the Red Cross only found out late the day before that they'd be getting a visit from the "paranormalist" who claims to curl cutlery using...
