Gamber

The county commissioners heard more than two hours of what many listeners called tedious testimony yesterday on a proposed rezoning that would allow a Gamber landowner to carve five housing lots out of farmland. The commissioners said they would review the record before making a decision on the 11-acre parcel on Niner Road near Route 32. Officials said the property is considered a remainder - land left over after the allowable number of buildable lots from the original farm has been reached.

Fire Sykesville: Firefighters from Sykesville and West Friendship in Howard County responded at 6: 19 p.m. Tuesday to a propane tank leak in the 7200 block of Norris Ave. Units were out 15 minutes. Sykesville: Firefighters from Sykesville and Gamber responded at 8: 34 a.m. Tuesday to a gas leak in the 1000 block of Courtland Drive. Units were out 25 minutes.

Fire Sykesville: Firefighters from Sykesville, Gamber and West Friendship in Howard County responded at 8: 30 a.m. Tuesday to an oven fire in the 7300 block of Norris Ave. Units were out 16 minutes.

Fire Gamber: Firefighters from Gamber, Reese and Sykesville responded at 7: 02 a.m. Thursday to a chimney fire in the 3200 block of Sykesville Road. Units were out 23 minutes.

Police Westminster: A resident of West Green Street told police Sunday that someone cut the convertible top on her vehicle. Damage was estimated at $900. Westminster: A resident of Winged Foot Drive told police Monday that a cellular telephone was stolen from his vehicle. Loss was estimated at $100. Westminster: A resident of Cobbs Choice Lane told police Monday that someone damaged her vehicle at her home. Damage was estimated at $500. Fire Reese: Firefighters from Reese and Gamber responded at 2: 09 p.m. Monday to a house fire in the 3500 block of Dumphries Drive.
