On January 2, 2005, GAIL M., beloved wife of Allen Stokes, Sr. and devoted mother of Allen Jr. and Lavere Stokes; she is also survived by her mother Mary Boyd; two sisters, one brother, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Friends may visit the JAMES A. MORTON & SONS FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 311 Main St. Friday 3-7 p.m. On Saturday Mrs. Stokes will lie in state at New Shiloh Baptist Church, 105 East Ave. The family will receive friends 10-10:30 a.m. followed by services. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.

Janney; cherished grandmother of Timothy and Josephine Janney and Nicole Dahler; dear sister of Lois Pommer and John Therres; best friend of Kathy Lutz. Gail M. Parker, former director of the Brown Memorial Tutoring Program that helped disadvantaged inner-city children overcome reading disabilities, died of breast cancer Saturday at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was 72. Born and raised Gail Munson in New Haven, Conn., she earned a bachelor's degree in English in 1953 from Smith College and a master's in reading in 1987 from what is now Towson University. At her death, Mrs. Parker was studying for a master's degree in humanities at Towson.

On July 1, 2004, STEVEN H. SZYMAN; devoted husband of Gail (Jones) Szyman; beloved father of Brandon J. and Ian M. Szyman; son of James Szyman and the late Sondra (Adelberg) Szyman Magidoff; brother of Lawrence Magidoff and Donna J. Ray. Also survived by a grandmother Lorraine Adelberg. Funeral Service will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at J. J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second Street, New Freedom, PA. Interment in Bowser's Cemetery, New Freedom. Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday, July 5 from 7 to 9 P.M.

On May 7, 2004, GAIL BREWINGTON O'DONOVAN, beloved wife of Dr. Charles O'Donovan, III, devoted mother of Charles O'Donovan, V and E. Patrick O'Donovan, dear sister of Lynn B. Havard and Sue B. Schier, grandmother of Katherine Chase O'Donovan and Eliza Fitzgerald O'Donovan. A Memorial Service will be held Friday 11 AM in the Chapel of the Church of the Redeemer, 5603 N. Charles Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Helen B. Spurrier Scholarship Fund at the Roland Park Country School for Girls, 5204 Roland Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21210.

Interment will be at Beth El Memorial Park, Baltimore, MD on Monday at 1 P.M. Commencing Tuesday, family will be at the residence of Gail Bober and Jeff Bakely.
