City homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 38-year-old man found stabbed to death in his apartment yesterday morning.A friend arriving for a visit found Marshall Lucas of the 100 block of Colvin Street with multiple stab wounds to the torso, police said.Detectives said the victim was discovered about 8 a.m. at his Lafayette Courts apartment, where he lived alone.

A Baltimore County police officer found two men suffering from stab wounds after a traffic stop early Saturday in Parkville, police said. Police later arrested Randy Monsio Bropleh, 21, and him charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault. Police said Bropleh was injured during the stabbings, but they did not elaborate. About 12:30 a.m., a county police officer saw a car go through a stop sign without stopping at Bon Air Road and Taylor Avenue. The officer followed and the car eventually stopped but backed into the patrol car, prompting the passenger to flee on foot.

Guards found an inmate with stab wounds in the neck and chest about 8: 25 p.m. yesterday in a recreation yard at the Maryland House of Correction in Jessup, a state Division of Correction spokesman said.The inmate, 37, whose name was not released, was in stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, spokesman Dave Towers said.No arrest had been made and no weapon was found, he said. A 23-year-old man was stabbed to death Thursday in a downtown neighborhood just north of Lexington Market, and police said they have charged a man in the killing. Police found the man, identified as Cortez A. Lemon, shortly after 5 p.m. lying on the sidewalk in the 400 block of West Saratoga St. He had sustained multiple stab wounds to his chest and abdomen and was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died at 7:10 p.m. On Friday, police said Troy Harrison, 21, had been arrested and charged in the killing, but details were not immediately available.

A young Severn woman who was found stabbed in the back Sunday in an elementary school parking lot was released yesterday after treatment at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, police reported.Angela Creek, 18, of the 8100 block of Meade Village Road was found bleeding heavily in her car outside Van Bokkelen Elementary School shortly before 5 p.m. after police received an anonymous call reporting a stabbing in progress, authorities said.Based on information from witnesses, police arrested Shameka Denise Molock, 16, of the 8200 block of Clearwater Court in Severn, who was charged as an adult with assault and reckless endangerment, police said.

A man awaiting trial for murder was found stabbed to death yesterday morning in his cell at Baltimore City Detention Center, said a spokesman for the state police, the agency heading the investigation.Pete Peringer, the spokesman, said the state-run center in the 400 block of E. Eager St. will remain in a lockdown while authorities seek a suspect and weapon.During a lockdown, inmates are confined to their cells, he said.Peringer said correctional officers found Scott P. Montague, 20, in his cell about 10: 20 a.m., bleeding from multiple stab wounds.

A 75-year-old woman was found stabbed to death yesterday, allegedly by a former employee who broke into her Northwest Baltimore apartment Saturday afternoon to steal her purse, city police said.The body of Jeanette Friedman was found by her son in the kitchen of her third-floor apartment in the 3500 block of Clarks Lane, in a complex inhabited mostly by elderly residents. Police said she had been stabbed several times.Sgt. Steven A. Lehmann of the homicide unit said police had a 32-year-old Baltimore man in custody early today and were preparing to charge him with armed robbery and first-degree murder this morning.

An Essex woman was found stabbed to death after a 911 call early yesterday by her 8-year-old daughter, Baltimore County police reported.The body of Brenda Carroll, 30, was found in an upstairs bedroom of her rented rowhouse in the 9700 block of Matzon Road around 5 a.m., said police spokesman Bill Toohey.The father of one of her two children was questioned by detectives after arriving voluntarily at the Essex Police Precinct station four hours later. The man -- who was not identified -- was being held last night on a warrant in an unrelated matter, but had not been charged in the stabbing, police said.

A 70-year-old Southwest Baltimore woman was found stabbed to death in her home early today, the only fatality in a night of city violence that saw six people wounded by gunfire.One of those shot was a man being arrested by a police officer who broke up a street robbery. A 75-year-old mother and her 39-year-old daughter were found stabbed to death in their Carney home last night, Baltimore County police report.After notifying relatives, police identified the victims as Gertrude Poffel, 75, and her daughter, Pamela, 39, both of 2816 Fifth Ave.The bodies remained inside the house overnight while homicide detectives examined the crime scene. City police were investigating the fatal stabbing of a man Sunday night in Southwest Baltimore. Officers responded at 10:35 p.m. to the 3100 block of Edmondson Ave., in the Franklintown Road neighborhood, for a reported aggravated assault and found the unidentified man suffering from a stab wound to his chest. Three people were stabbed and a man was shot in separate incidents Saturday night and early Sunday in Baltimore County, a police spokesman said. The stabbings occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of Florida Road off Liberty Road, after a disturbance broke out at a carnival being held at Security Square Mall. All three stabbing victims were taken to local hospitals with nonfatal wounds, the police spokesman said. The spokesman provided no information on the victims' identities, and said police had no suspects.

A 60-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Baltimore County police said Tuesday. Sam Davis , for whom no address was provided, was found Monday in Baltimore and arrested in the stabbing of Jacqueline Paul, 35, during what police described as an argument on the 300 block of Grovethorn Road in Middle River. He left after the incident, police said. Officers responding to a call about a cardiac arrest found Paul with multiple stab wounds.

Baltimore police on Monday identified a West Baltimore man who was found fatally stabbed a day earlier. Edgar Waylan Wilson, 61, was found at 1:21 p.m. Sunday by a relative in his home in the 2800 block of Clifton Ave., according to police. Investigators had no suspects and had yet to determine a motive, police said. An earlier version of this article incorrectly reported Edgar Wilson's age. The Baltimore Sun regrets the error.

State police arrested two men Tuesday in the stabbing death of a 71-year-old man Cecil County man earlier this week. Lillian Jacobs, 24 and John Wayne Davis, 31, both of no fixed address are charged with first- and second-degree murder in the death of John R. Fleming, 71. Fleming was found dead with stab wounds on the living room floor inside his Earleville home on Monday morning. Information led police to Jacobs and Davis, who were seen pushing a wrecked pickup about one mile from Fleming's home in the 100 block of New Jersey Avenue on the day of Fleming's death.

A 40-year-old man was found stabbed to death early Saturday in an apartment in Westminster, according to police. Greg Shipley, a Maryland State Police spokesman, identified the victim as Steven R. Hobson. A cause of death will not be known until an autopsy is performed at the medical examiner's office in Baltimore. Shipley said that shortly before 2:30 a.m., Westminster police officers were summoned by a 911 call to a residential and commercial building in the first block of E. Main St. When they arrived, the officers found Hobson in his apartment, his shirt and pants spattered with blood.

A 33-year-old West Baltimore man was found stabbed to death in his apartment Friday night, Baltimore police said yesterday. Police said they found Edwin Morris Ricks of the 900 block of North Gilmor St. about 10:30 p.m. They declined to discuss details of the killing, saying only that they believe it was drug-related. Police ask anyone with information about the case to call detective Irvin Bradley at 410-396-2100.
