A Lansdowne man was found shot to death late Tuesday night near his home.Baltimore County police officers found Joseph William Weigman Jr., 42, lying on the sidewalk in the 2400 block of Smith Ave. at Lorena Avenue about 11 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Weigman, who lived in the 2400 block of Tionesta Road, had been shot in the head.A neighbor heard shots and called 911 at 10:58 p.m.There were no witnesses, and no motive has been established, said Cpl. Kevin Novak, a spokesman for the county Police Department.

Baltimore Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found in a vehicle in Northwest Baltimore on Saturday morning. Officers went to the 2500 block of Chelsea Terrace, which is off of Gwynns Falls Parkway, on Saturday about 3:15 a.m. for a report of a car accident, police said. They found a man inside a vehicle. He was suffering from at least one gunshot wound, they said. The man was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he later died. alisonk@baltsun.com twitter.com

A 27-year-old man found shot early today on a West Baltimore street died at a hospital.Police were called to the 1100 block of Smithson St. in West Baltimore about 2:20 a.m. after a report of gunshots. Arthur Long III, of the 500 block of N. Calhoun St., was found lying on his back on a sidewalk.Long died at University of Maryland Medical Center at 3:55 a.m. of multiple gunshot wounds.Investigators say they have no motive and no suspects.Long's slaying was the 275th in Baltimore this year.

A man was found fatally shot in Northeast Baltimore on Tuesday evening, the city's 70th homicide this year, police said. The man was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 1200 block of Walters Avenue in the Woodbourne Heights neighborhood about 5:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. More information about the incident and the man's identity was not immediately available. In a separate incident, a man was shot in the arm in the 400 block of Furrow Street in the Carrollton Ridge neighborhood about 2 p.m., police said.

MOSCOW -- A Russian legislator who had claimed that a mafia assassin tried to kill him last spring was found shot to death yesterday in a wooded area on the outskirts of the capital, making him the third deputy to be murdered here this year, Russian police said.A day after Sergei Skorochkin was abducted from a suburban restaurant by four men posing as police, his handcuffed body was discovered in the woods during a police search. He had been killed with single bullet in the back of the head.

A 36-year-old Columbia man found shot in the head near Cradlerock Way and Hickory Log Circle in Columbia early yesterday was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center and released. Officers called to the area in Owen Brown village about 12:10 a.m. found an injured Lorenzo Grey Graise, who lives in the 10000 block of Hickory Ridge Road, police said. Graise's vehicle had several bullet holes in the trunk and the rear window had been broken, police said. Police said yesterday that they do not believe the shooting took place where Graise was found.

A 36-year-old man was found shot to death early yesterday on a street in Baltimore's Parklane community, city police reported. Northern District officers responding to a 911 call reporting a man lying on the ground near Edgecombe Circle Elementary School in the 2800 block of Edgecombe Circle N. about 1:30 a.m. found Horace Joseph Fauntleroy bleeding from at least one gunshot wound. Fauntleroy, whose address was not available, was pronounced dead at the scene by the crew of a city Fire Department ambulance.

Two young men were found shot to death in apparently unrelated incidents in Baltimore early yesterday, city police reported.Sebastian Lamont Clowney, 23, of the 6100 block of Shipview Way, was found dead shortly before 7: 30 a.m. in the rear yard of a house in the 1500 block of Elrino St. in O'Donnell Heights.Detective Lynette Nevins said area residents heard shots at 2: 40 a.m., but police did not find anything amiss at the time.In the other incident, Detective Danny Danzie said officers were questioning a man seen firing a gun shortly past midnight near the 2700 block of Fenwick Ave., near Clifton Park.

LOS ANGELES - Six people were found shot to death today in rural Riverside County at the home of an investigator for the county's district attorney, authorities said. A handgun was found near the body of David McGowan, police said. The five other victims, including three children, all members of his family, were found shot in the head in their beds. "There did not appear to be any forced entry in the home. There were no signs of a struggle whatsoever," said Riverside County Sheriff Bob Doyle.

An unidentified man was found shot early yesterday in a car in a neighborhood near the city's western border, and died about 30 minutes later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said. Officers investigating a reported shooting in the 4800 block of Lindsay Road in West Hills found the victim seated about 1:35 a.m. at the steering wheel and bleeding from a wound to his upper body. Police also released the identities of two men who were fatally shot in separate incidents Friday in Northwest Baltimore.

A man was found fatally shot in a car in Annapolis on Sunday afternoon, a case detectives were investigating as a homicide, Annapolis police said. The man was shot in the 200 block of Victor Parkway in the parking lot of a condominium complex, police spokeswoman Detective Amy Miguez said. The shooting was reported about 4:30 p.m. Police on Monday identified the man as John Donnel Ray, 32, of the 4600 block of Rolling Hill Road in Huntingtown in Calvert County. A 27-year-old Mount Airy man was found dead on the beach in Ocean City on Tuesday morning, with what police believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officers were called to the beach near 45th Street about 7:55 a.m. for reports of an unresponsive man lying on the beach with a rifle in his lap, Ocean City police said. When they arrived, they found the man dead from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound, police said. A .22 caliber rifle was recovered, police said.

A man was shot at least once in the 1100 block of Homewood Avenue early Tuesday evening, police said. Officers responded to reports of gunshots at 5:20 p.m. and found a man shot at least once in the upper body, police said. He was transported to an area hospital. The victim was not named and police said no other information was immediately available. It was the sixth shooting in the Johnston Square neighborhood this year, according to police statistics. Baltimore County police found a man in a Nissan Altima suffering a gunshot wound in Woodlawn early Sunday morning, police reported. The man, found in the unit block of Guild Hall Court, was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, but police said Sunday afternoon that they did not know his condition. Officers have apprehended three people in connection with the shooting, police said. The Baltimore County Police Department Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the incident, police said.

A 36-year-old Frederick man died after being found with multiple gunshot wounds in a Frederick alley early Sunday morning, according to police. Lamont George-Lee Ellis, of the 3700 block of Hope Commons Circle, was pronounced dead at Frederick Memorial Hospital after being found shortly before 2 a.m. in Mullenix Alley, near West All Saints Street, Frederick police said. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Rob Marker at 301-600-1242.

Mark Douglas Edmondson, a disc jockey at WMIX-106.5 FM, was found shot to death early today in the living room of his basement apartment in northeast Baltimore.Police said Edmondson, 24, was killed by a single bullet that passed through his neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.Investigators said they believed Edmondson shot himself accidentally while playing with a 9mm automatic handgun, which he reportedly kept for his protection.The gun was recovered by police. They said one shot had been fired.
