I must admit, with a very heavy heart, that the Season 3 finale of "Scandal" disappointed me. Too many storylines to wrap up so quickly. Plus, Fitz and Quinn are both still alive and being the worst, and that's never OK. We start off at the senator's funeral. Cyrus is all set to let it blow up, with everyone inside, but fortunately, less evil folks discover Maya's plan and Fitz is able to get the church evacuated before the bomb can go off. The whole building promptly explodes as soon as the last person leaves, and Sally?

This week, things pick up shortly after we left off. Jake's done choking Liv, but he isn't done accusing her of treason. Everyone's furious with her for breaking up B613, but as a couple of people pointed out on Twitter, can't they just turn the computers back on? I'm confused. Jake and Fitz are ganging up on Liv about B613. She's shocked, since they both seemed to hate it, at one point. They both seem to be more upset that she's allowed whatever Marie Wallace's clients have planned to unfold six days before the election.

My revised list of people who have to die: Quinn, Fitz - and though it hurts my heart to say this - James. There is a whole lot of whininess and poor decision-making happening in “Scandal's” Washington, D.C. and the majority of it is coming from that little trio. For Fitz, it is understanding that the world does not completely revolve around him. At the top of the episode, he and Olivia are busy having this incredibly loud argument about Olivia using Jake as her beard (Jake's words, not mine)

Always a team player, Mellie is in the middle of shooting a behind-the-scenes look at the East Wing, to rehab her image. Basically, she has to drone on about curating the White House's art, etc, poor thing. Flashback to 15 years ago in Santa Barbara. Fitz and Mellie are fooling around, with his dad yelling for them to get outside. He pries them from the bedroom and introduces them to Rocker Hair Cyrus, an incarnation of Cyrus Bean that is immediately both fascinating and terrifying.

I'm going to begin by saying that I was not sure about this episode from the preview. Hostage situation? It's been done so many times that I feared that we may be getting the first predictable episode of “Scandal” ever. Thankfully, I was wrong. Jake is resting in Olivia's bed, wrapped in bandages and bruised all over, but still managing to be beautiful. Olivia's huddled on the floor, reeling from all that has happened. Fitz calls, wanting to explain Jake, but Olivia can't talk.

It took Michael Fitzpatrick, the 42-year-old lead singer of Fitz and the Tantrums, many years of toiling as a self-taught studio engineer and aspiring musician in Los Angeles to find the success he craved. When it finally came, courtesy of his sextet's breakthrough 2010 debut album "Pickin' Up the Pieces," Fitzpatrick knew it could be his only shot, so he and his band refused to turn down any opportunity to gain new fans. Whether it was a late-night talk show performance or a festival gig, Fitz and the Tantrums were there, playing its soulful, guitar-less take on indie-pop.

Tribune Co. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dennis J. FitzSimons is expected to announce his resignation as early as today, a person close to the company said yesterday. The resignation would be the first departure of a top Tribune executive as the company prepares to go private under the leadership of Chicago businessman Sam Zell. FitzSimons, 57, a 25-year veteran of Tribune, is in line to collect close to $40 million in severance, depending on the date on which he chooses to depart, according to corporate disclosure statements.
