An article published in the Business section of Tuesday's editions of The Sun may have given the incorrect impression that the level of advertising in Baltimore magazine has fallen.In fact, advertising at the magazine has increased in recent years. Overall advertising pages were up 18.4 percent at the magazine through June, according to Baltimore publisher Jonathan Witty.

Fallen tree branches were blocking the right lane on southbound Interstate 83 just past Cold Spring Lane, according to Baltimore police. Traffic was being diverted into other lanes due to the debris.

More than an inch of rain fell on the Baltimore area yesterday, bringing relief after a drier-than-normal spring. By late last night, 1.23 inches of rain had fallen at Baltimore-Washington International Airport, a record for the date, said John Margraf of the National Weather Service. The old record for May 26 was 0.96 inches in 1990. The precipitation pushed total rainfall in May above last year's 2.95 inches. With more showers and thunderstorms predicted today, Margraf said the city can probably expect to log more than 4.27 inches this month.

One of Towson's biggest office buildings is scheduled to go on the auction block next week, as insurance giant Aetna Corp. forecloses on Court Towers, a 135,000-square-foot building developed by the Trammell Crow Co.Trammell Crow defaulted on a $23.7 million loan it received from Aetna in 1990, according to Baltimore County Circuit Court records. The company owes Aetna more than $26 million.Donald G. Taylor, regional managing partner for Trammell Crow, blamed the foreclosure on high debt and falling rental rates for office space.

Baltimore: Concert Event today to honor fallen city officers The third annual concert to remember Baltimore City's fallen officers is set for 4 p.m. today at the New Metropolitan Baptist Church, 1501 McCulloh St. The free concert is sponsored by the Baltimore City state's attorney's office and the Baltimore City Police Memorial Fund Board. The concert shows appreciation to fallen officers and their relatives, friends and co-workers; money collected during the event will benefit the memorial fund.
