It's National Doughnut Day. You get a free doughnut at Dunkin' Donuts with the purchase of a beverage. And Krispy Kreme is just plain old giving a free doughnut to anyone who comes in, with no purchase necessary. But ake a look at the stressed-out comments on the promotion's Facebook page. One commenter said, "Our store said we couldn't get an apple fritter or a bar. I thought 'any variety' would mean ANY variety. " Follow-up commenters try to explain that a fritter is not a doughnut.

Alexander Kinyua, a 21-year-old Morgan State University student, has been charged in the killing and dismemberment in Harford County of a 37-year-old man, and while not much was immediately known about the circumstances of the crime, Kinyua's online trail points to a troubled young man. Just five days ago on a Kenyan website, a post from his parents showed that he had been arrested following what they described as a fight in his dormitory...

Maryland gained a new 'second lady' over the weekend. Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown married Karmen Bailey Walker on Sunday at the Memorial Chapel on the University of Maryland campus in College Park. Political guests at the 370 person affair included Gov. Martin O'Malley and Rep. Steny Hoyer. Bailey, who is 52 and an executive for Comcast, has been dating Brown, 50, for about three years. They were engaged to be married last year. Since Sunday, Brown's facebook page has been filling with congratulatory messages -- including a one with the photo accompanying this blog post.

When a woman refused to pay the automatic 17% gratuity at a Houston seafood restaurant named La Fisherman, she says the restaurant locked her and her party inside the restaurant and threatened to call the police. The story, which was reported by KRPC , the NBC-affiliate in Houston and began spreading on Wednesday to other websites like the Huffington Post, goes like this: The customer, Jasmine Marks, decided that the automatic gratuity the restaurant applies to checks for parties of five or more, and which is clearly stated on the menu, was null and void in her case.

A party bus company that promised "luxury charter buses" to the Sweetlife Music Festival Saturday is facing a major backlash and thousands of dollars in refunds after it left hundreds of customers stranded. Numaan Akram, founder and CEO of Rock & Bus, conceded Monday the company screwed up and was working through "hundreds" of complaints to offer refunds to disgruntled customers. "Unfortunately, we had a serious problem," he said. On Saturday, some 1,800 people had booked transportation to the festival through the company, Akram said.

It used to be that only presidents had a list of their enemies, and if you were on it, it was a kind of a badge of honor - as long as you didn't mind having your tax returns regularly audited. Newsman Daniel Schorr was reading President Richard Nixon's enemies list during a live broadcast when he came across his own name. Actor Paul Newman said he considered his inclusion on that list one of his greatest achievements. "If you don't have enemies, you don't have character," Mr. Newman said at the time.
