A private jury looks at this online community of artists — more than 700 uploaded entries for this year's competition — and chooses three recipients of the $25,000 Mary Sawyers Baker Prize and awards up to nine $1,000 "b-grants.

The relocation is necessary because of a $24.5 million renovation project that will temporarily close a portion of the BMA. Doreen Bolger, director of the BMA, called the finalist's exhibit "one of the most anticipated events of the year, and we have enjoyed working with so many talented artists in our community.
