David Ortiz smashed a homer to right on Monday that was part of Boston's three-run sixth to tie the score at 5-5. It has a little more significance than that, though. The blast traveled past the flag court and landed on Eutaw Street - the 62nd time that has happened in Camden Yards' 20-year history and 37th time by an opponent. It was Ortiz's second shot there, the first coming on Sept. 9, 2003 against Damian Moss. What's most interesting is that there have been five homers hit onto Eutaw (four by an opponent; one by Chris Davis)

Chris Davis is officially on the Eutaw Street board. The Orioles' big slugger cleared the flag court with a 418-foot blast to right in the seventh inning against former Oriole Jim Miller. It was Davis' fourth homer of the season, and the first of his career to land on Eutaw Street. It's the 59 th homer to land there in Camden Yards' history, the 25 th one hit by an Oriole. The last time an Oriole did it was June 7, 2011, by Luke Scott, also against the Oakland A's. Davis' homer gave the Orioles a 10-1 lead Saturday night.

Green, Orange and Purple. All good. It's now time for a Blue Line on the Charm City Circulator ("Free bus service adds line from Hopkins Hospital to downtown," Nov. 2). I have had the occasion to ride on all three and it is truly a benefit. I would like to suggest the Blue Line would travel a route from City Hall and downtown down Eutaw Street to the state office complex. The existing Mass Transit Administration bus service on Eutaw Street may be second worst only to North Avenue.

Five-year-old Amir Atkins sat on a high brick wall alongside Martin Luther King Boulevard Monday, bouncing in place and leaving little doubt about what he liked about the passing parade. "Giddy-up! Giddy-up!," he yelled as riders passed on horseback during Baltimore's 11th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. "I want to see the whole thing! I want to eat some cotton candy!" Amir said as he took in the spectacle with his 3-year-old sister, Chase Degross, and his mother, Stacy Watson.

Orioles first baseman Luke Scott hit the night's longest one, his three-run shot landing about 25 feet shy of the first in-game home run off the warehouse in Camden Yards history. But on a night when homers flew out of the 18-year-old ballpark at a dizzying pace, the Orioles simply couldn't keep up with the powerful New York Yankees. Nick Swisher and Eric Hinske hit back-to-back homers off Chris Ray to break a seventh-inning tie and the Yankees hit five of the game's seven homers in a 9-6 victory over the Orioles before an announced 25,782 on Tuesday night at Camden Yards.

One last bird's eye view Orioles manager Dave Trembley again watched the game from an unused broadcast booth as he finished serving the final day of his two-game suspension. Like Friday, bench coach Dave Jauss served as active manager, ending with a 1-1 record in his two-game stint. Toronto bench coach Brian Butterfield also managed Saturday while Cito Gaston missed his second consecutive game because of the death of his sister. Stepping out on Eutaw Luke Scott's fourth-inning homer was the 51st in Camden Yards history to land on Eutaw Street - behind the right-field scoreboard - and 21st hit there by an Oriole.
