On October 2, 2004 EDITH GERTRUDE VIANDS ESTEP, age 96, she is survived by son Carson Gene "Boog" Dofflemyer of Luray, VA, daughters Faye Beavan of Ellicott City, MD and Barbara E. Preissler of Pasadena, MD. She was preceded in death by husbands Harold Dofflemyer and George Henry Estep. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. On August 23, 2009, RALPH DeWITT McCLOUD, age 66, 1960 graduate of Douglas High School, Upper Marlboro, MD and 1964 graduate of Morgan State. He served as a Lieutenant in the US Army, spending most of his time in Vietnam. Survived by brother Rodney A. McCloud, sister-in-law Barbara Bush, nephews Richard T. McCloud II and Kintu A. Eager to replace Darcel Estep, Morgan State hired assistant coach Gerard Garlic to run its women's basketball program yesterday.Garlic, 33, was named coach one week after Estep's departure to take over the St. John's program. Garlic has been an assistant at Morgan State for three seasons, during which the Bears had a 35-49 record.Morgan State 12-16 last season, returns all five starters and 10 of its letter winners."I always thought it would be a great opportunity," Garlic said. "I was involved in getting these young ladies and feel that we're going in the right direction as far as trying to win the MEAC and getting into the big dance."
