Twenty-seven-year-old Randy Enos of Manchester is one of many weekend warriors who compete at the Trail-Way Speedway near Hanover, Pa. every week.Enos races in the street stock division, an entry-level class where many drivers get their start.Enos has been around racing for several years. He began attending races at Trail-Way when he was 15 and has been going ever since.At first he thought about building a car to race, but never got around to it.Later when his brother, Charlie Enos, began to drive in the micro-sprints, Randy became interested in driving again.

Beginning in the late summer of 1979 and continuing well into the fall of 1980, David Byrne and Brian Eno were holed up in five recording studios in New York and Los Angeles, piecing together rainbow glints of sound. Using analog technology - the only kind available at the time - the art-rock duo doggedly tried to synchronize sampled voices with their multilayered instrumental tracks. With no digital sequencing software, the process was tedious and often frustrating. However, the two still managed to come up with richly evocative, even groundbreaking music, albeit mostly by accident.

One of the real nice guys in motor sports is Charlie Enos of Finksburg. He is beginning his second full year of micro-sprint racing at Trail-Way Speedway in Hanover, Pa.His racing season so far has been like the weather -- lousy. And when the weather is good, he's still trying to shake his string of bad luck.Last week at Trail-Way, Enos brushed the wall and knocked the drive chain off his car in the first feature. In the qualifying events for the second feature, he burned a piston and ruined a cylinder.

ANTHONY "TONY" PETER MENTIS of Dover passed away at home May 9, 2006. He was 92. Mr. Mentis was born June 23, 1913 in Baltimore, MD to the late John Mentis and Mary Coroneos Mentis. Mr. Mentis has been a Dover resident for the last 45 years. Mr. Mentis began his career as a pharmacist, served 10 years in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, three years with the USAF Research and Development Command, nine years with Playtex, nine years with Dupont and several years with the Delaware Public Service Commission.
