Her mother, Barbara Smith, works in the financial aid office at Goucher College in Towson, and her father, George Smith, is a specialist for learning and development at Verizon. His story: Max Zdunowski, 34, is originally from Homestead, Fla., but grew up on the Eastern Shore. He is a software engineer at AAI Corp. His mother, Ruth Pier, lives in Denton.

On November 17, 2003, ELSIE HERMAN of Coconut Creek, FL, beloved daughter of the late Harry "Moe" and the late Lena (nee Zablotsky), dear sister of the late Irvin Herman, sister-in-law of Jeannette Herman and aunt of Harriet Herman. Graveside services were held on November 20, 2003, at Shaarei Zion Cemetery, Rosedale, MD.

Elsie M. Hegwood, a former elementary school educator and cafeteria manager who was an active member of Govans Presbyterian Church, died Jan. 16 at a daughter's Elizabethtown, Pa., home from complications of a stroke she suffered two years ago. The former Towson resident was 99. The former Elsie Matthews was born in Laurel, Miss., and was raised in New Orleans and Jackson, Miss., where she graduated from high school. She attended Belhaven College — now Belhaven University — in Jackson, Miss., for several years and then moved to Detroit and Boston, where she was a school cafeteria manager in Westwood, Mass.

ELSIE (Wagner) ZOLGA, 82, of Raynham, MA, died Monday, July 9, 2007, at her home. She was the wife of the late Michael Zolga. Born March 20, 1925, in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Roger) Wagner. She had been a Raynham resident for the past year, coming from Timonium, Md. Mrs. Zolga was an administrative assistant for T. Rowe Price Co., in Baltimore, Md., for 30 years. She was a member of St. Ann's Church in Raynham. Mrs. Zolga enjoyed bingo and rummy cubes.

Devoted mother of Janis Knepp, Lois Poswiatowski, Paul Poswiatowski and loving grandmother to Jeffrey and Alexis Knepp. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 27 at 2 P. M at the Essex United Methodist Church corner of Woodward and Maryland Avenues, Essex.

Elsie F. O'Malley, a homemaker and world traveler, died Nov. 14 from complications of a stroke at the Blakehurst retirement community in Towson. The former Homeland resident was 95. The daughter of a banker-lumber company owner and a homemaker, the former Elsie Farinholt was born and raised in Cash, Va. She was a descendant of Revolutionary War patriot Patrick Henry. She was a 1934 graduate of the old Mount St. Agnes High School in Mount Washington, and attended the Maryland Institute College of Art . In 1938, she married Paul T. O'Malley, who owned P.T. O'Malley Lumber Co., and settled in Armagh Village, where they lived until later moving to Homeland.

Elsie K. Reighart, former director of Christian education at Brown Memorial Woodbrook Presbyterian Church, died May 5 of a pulmonary embolism at Jennersville Hospital in Jennersville, Pa. Elsie Entwisle, a retired senior departmental administrator at the Johns Hopkins University, died March 11 of leukemia at Gilchrist Hospice. She was 84 and lived in Parkville. Born Elsie Marie Miller in Pigtown, she and her two brothers were raised by their grandparents after their mother died of tuberculosis when Ms. Entwisle was 4. She graduated from Southern High School and then went to work at Domino's Sugars and the old Baltimore City Traffic Court. In 1946, she met the Rev. Willard M. Entwisle, who came to Baltimore to lead what was then St. Paul's Chapel on Washington Boulevard and who would become her husband.
