On Nov. 16, Venture Crew 307, the co-ed Scouting unit chartered to Catonsville United Methodist Church, held a successful steak dinner and silent auction fundraiser. On behalf of the crew, I would like to thank the more than 200 people that came and supported this effort. Our silent auction was a success because of the many donations by local businesses and friends of the program. They are: A.W.O.L. Skate Shop, U.S. Barber, Sam's Bagels, Smyth Jewelers, Sarafino's, Phoenix Emporium, Roy's Restaurant and Play it Again Sports.

The Bel Air High School After Prom Party committee would like to thank the following area businesses and/or individuals for their generous donations, which helped to make our after prom party, held at the Bel Air Athletic Club April 28 -  29 a success. Three hundred and seventy seniors and guests were entertained in a safe, chemical-free environment, thanks to: Applebee's, The Arena Club, Aruba Tanning, Bel Air Athletic Club and Spa, The Baltimore Ravens, Bella Amici Salon, Bellissimo Seafood Bar & Grill, Bertucci's, Best Buy, Blue Ridge Mountain Cookery, Inc., Dianne Bowen, Boyle Buick, Doris Brown, Brian Bunce Barbers, Burger King, Chick-Fil-A, Chili's, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Churchville Golf, Color Lounge Salon & Spa, Commercial Ware Washing Services, LLC, Costco Warehouse, Curves, Melanie Desilets, Dick's Sporting Goods, Edible Arrangements, Einstein Bros.

Ravens Roost 88 thanks the generous donors who supported our bull and oyster roast fundraiser Sept. 24, including Captain Defense in full uniform and the Ravens Marching Band. Ace Automotive, Bare Bones, Bertamini's Hair Salon, Café D'Roma, Candlelight Inn, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Catonsville Hair Co., and Diamondback Tavern. Dusenberg's American Grill, Edible Arrangements, Fine Wine and Spirits, Grilled Cheese and Co., Hilton Flower Shop, Lyndwood Square Wine and Spirits, Mars Supermarkets and Mike's Pizza House.

Editor:  On Nov. 18, the Forest Hill Elementary School PTA sponsored our 11th annual PTA bingo fundraiser. It was a wonderful success and a great deal of fun. Funds raised are going to student materials and activities that will enhance their educational experience. Editor:  Thank you, Harford County, for joining Oak Grove Baptist Church in our second annual Women's Conference held March 31.  With over 200 in attendance, we enjoyed the Bible lessons and accounts shared by our speakers, Laurie DeYoung, WPOC morning DJ, and Erika Clark, veteran and advocate for women and children. We especially want to thank the following businesses in Bel Air that provided gift donations for door prizes: Angles Hair Team, Bertucci's Italian Restaurant, Cheveux Salon and Day Spa, Christopher Matthew's Christian Store, Creative Design Salon and Spa, Mrs. Flowers Inc, Liberatore's Ristorante, Tasti-D-Lite and TCBY.  Additionally, these businesses from around Harford and Cecil counties provided gift donations for door prizes: Box Hill Pizzeria-Abingdon, Edible Arrangements-Abingdon, Eleven Courses-Lutherville, Freedom Hills Therapeutic Riding Program-Port Deposit, Geneva Golf Course-Street, Klein's Shop Rite-Forest Hill, Mary Kay via Joyce Waller and Twin Silos Restaurant-Street.

On July 16, Lighthouse, a nonprofit counseling center for children and families, held its first Summer Stroll. Participants were treated to special deals from Catonsville businesses, raffles for gift certificates and the winner from the "Show Us Your Chair" contest. Our event exceeded all expectations. We had beautiful weather and were serenaded by live music. We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to the following businesses and individuals for helping to make this event a tremendous success: Greg Bean, Bertamini's Hair Salon, BNet, Bronze Bombshells Mobile Spray Tanning, Caffe Di Roma, Candlelight Inn and Catonsville Gourmet.
