The Harford County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in finding two men wanted in connection with an armed robbery at an Edgewood Burger King in mid-March. On Friday, March 15, at 10:20 p.m., the Burger King restaurant at 1808 Edgewood Road was robbed by two men. One robber is described as a black man with a light complexion, 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches tall and with a thin build. A second robber displayed a handgun during the robbery and demanded money from the clerk.

Harford County sheriff's deputies arrested a Baltimore man on drug charges early Thursday morning after the suspect fled while deputies were attempting to stop him for speeding. According to the Sheriff's Office, Reginald S. Artis, 34, of the 2500 block of Hollins Street in the Southwest Baltimore, was charged with possession of a drug other than marijuana, narcotics possession with intent to distribute and hindering a police officer, according to court records. Around 12:48 am Thursday, a sheriff's deputy saw a 2000 silver Mercury exceeding the posted speed limit on Hanson Road in Edgewood, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

Every community has positive attributes and problems. Heck, some states - New Jersey and West Virginia, to name two in the immediate vicinity - have their own brand of associated jokes. Yet plenty of people are proud to call New Jersey and West Virginia home, and both states can boast having strong tourism components to their respective economies. Jokes about what exit a certain attraction is off of or the number of dentists per 100,000 population are likely to persist, but that doesn't mean either state is lacking or in need of making a particular change because of what someone who lives in New York or Ohio or Maryland might think.

Christopher McKenna, an aspiring young artist, packs talent into a creative window painting of the school mascot, a ram. The 13-year-old Edgewood Middle School student, originally from Alabama, moved to Edgewood when he was 9. He lives with his mother, Colleen McKenna, and three siblings who also attend Edgewood Middle and Edgewood High. Christopher is considering becoming an artist one day. He plans to paint a larger ram image on the front window of Edgewood Middle School for all visitors to see as they enter.

One Harford County firefighter suffered burns and another became ill while combating a house fire Saturday night in the 1700 block of Harbinger Trail, Edgewood. The incident was reported at about 8 p.m. at a two-story, single family home, according to fire officials. Initial response came from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, along with the Abingdon Fire Company, Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company and the Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department. Fire officials thought there may have have been one person inside, so firefighters entered the house with hoses and began extinguishing fire on both floors.

No. 2 Aberdeen won its second straight Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference girls basketball championship Wednesday night in a rout, beating Edgewood, 62-23, at C.Milton Wright. Despite the lopsided final score, the Eagles (20-3) struggled early, missing free throws (3-for-9 in the first quarter and 5-for-21 in the first half) and layups. The Maryland State Police and Harford County Sheriff's Office report: Aberdeen Lisa Stansbury, 40, of the first block of East Bel Air Avenue, was charged Wednesday with failing to appear for court in a case in which she was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia. Credit card fraud was reported Tuesday in the 4700 block of Witchhazel Way. A man was screaming while walking down the street Tuesday in the 3500 block of Farm Road. A bank card was stolen Wednesday in the 2400 block of Old Robin Hood Road.

No one was injured Sunday night when a man barricaded himself inside his Edgewood home, resulting in a police SWAT team being dispatched at the height of the Super Bowl. David McCracken, 44, of the 900 block of Cedar Crest Court in Edgewood, was being held Tuesday in lieu of $500,000 bail in the Harford County Detention Center, facing several assault and other charges because of Sunday's incident. Harford County sheriff's deputies were called shortly after 7 p.m. to the 900 block of Cedar Crest Court North, off Swallow Crest Drive, for a report of a man with a gun threatening his girlfriend, according to Eddie Hopkins, spokesman for the sheriff's office.
