On July 30, 2005, CHARLOTTE (nee Butler), beloved wife of Robert L. Eder; loving mother of Robert L. Eder Jr. (deceased), Dale Summer-Busch, Janice "Cookie" Rub, and Mark Eder; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; dear sister of Lillian Deering. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, August 4, 11 A.M. at St. Anthony of Padua, 4414 Frankford Avenue. JOSEPH F. EDER, 64, of St. Petersburg, FL, died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Bay Pines VAMC. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 2003 from Phoenix, Arizona. He was a welder, a Catholic and a US Navy veteran. He is survived by his two brothers, George Eder Jr. of Hayes, VA, and Louis Eder of Okeechobee, FL, two sisters, Elaine Mc Clelland of Phoenix, AZ and Karen Koeller of Racine, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews. On Saturday, August 2, 2003, PAUL EDER, 86, of 8911 Talc Drive, Rosedale, departed this life after a lengthy illness. He retired from Clendenon Bros. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Eder was son of the late Joseph Raymond and Albertina Eder. He is survived by his wife Florence Eder, his children, Alice Widerman, of Essex, MD, Edna Nieberlein, of Gardenville, MD, and one son Arthur Eder, of Edgewood, MD. Also survived by ten grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony's of Padua Church on Saturday at 12 noon.

The Carroll County Board of Zoning Appeals unanimously approved yesterday the construction of a 25,000-square-foot athletic club at Route 32 and Bennett Road in the Eldersburg Business Center despite the objections of a tenant.Groundbreaking for the club -- which will include three racquetball courts, a full-sized gymnasium and outdoor pools for adults and children -- will occur in about a year, said Terry J. Dezzutti, chief operating officer for Merritt Athletic Clubs, which operates the Downtown Athletic Club in Baltimore and clubs in ** Annapolis, Towson and Woodlawn.
