Rosemarie C. Critcher, a 1991 graduate of Towson State University, won the 1992 Graduate Voice Competition, which provides a full-tuition music scholarship for a master's degree in voice pedagogy-computer voice at the Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J. She was also selected by the college to sing in the 40-member Westminster Choir.*Michael Eder of Bel Air, an instructor with the Office of Business and Employee Training at Anne Arundel Community College, received the outstanding instructor award for developing a complete curriculum for personal computer training for the Motor Vehicle Administration.

On Sunday, check out "The Art of Entertaining: Musical Classica With Michael Feinstein and Linda Eder" at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The event features accomplished pianist Feinstein and Eder, a world-renowned vocalist whose Broadway appearances include Jekyll and Hyde. "The Art of Entertaining" takes place Sunday night at 7 at the Meyerhoff, 1212 Cathedral St. Tickets are $45-$65, with proceeds benefiting CHIMES services, which supports employment for people with barriers to independent living.

Ken and Cindy Holmes fled Rockville in 1993 in search of a safer place to bring up their three children. They found it in Union Bridge, in a century-old house with a leaky roof and damaged ceilings, but with character in its big bay windows.David and Toni Eder left Baltimore in 1988 to follow their dream of living in a small town. They had never heard of Union Bridge, but a relative who lives in New Windsor steered them to the town. They found a 109-year-old house that needed the restoration skills they had learned helping friends who bought and restored houses in Fells Point.

Minutes before the Union Bridge election judge emerged from Town Hall, two newcomers to politics exchanged pleasantries and wished each other "good luck" in the run for a council seat.Antonia "Toni" Eder and Vickie Lynn Greenwood waited for nearly 45 minutes after the polls closed, before Ms. Greenwood was receiving congratulations and Ms. Eder consolations."I know those judges had a long day in there," said Ms. Greenwood, among the first to vote when the polls opened at 7 a.m. "The waiting was the worst part for me."
