A passenger was killed, and the driver and a second passenger were seriously injured early yesterday when a car ran off the Inner Loop of the Baltimore Beltway and crashed, state police said. The Chevrolet Cavalier was eastbound on the Beltway near Providence Road at 2:17 a.m. when the driver lost control. It traveled down an embankment off the right shoulder and struck a boulder before going airborne backwards and crashing into a light pole and a guardrail, said Tfc. David Johnson of the Golden Ring Barracks.

Opher; grandmother of Keith and Dr. Valerie Opher; great-grandmother of Cie and Stringfellow Opher; sisters, Virgie L. Opher and the late Helen Opher Seymour; one brother, the late Benjamin Opher. Also survived by one nephew, William Seymour and one niece, Betty Kellogg; a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Opher was a member of the Steward Board of Ebenezer AME Church.

pickup truck flipped over and he was thrown from it, Maryland State Police said. Danny Lee Miller, 28, of the first block of Patrick Ward Drive in Theodore, was driving his 2004 Ford pickup on Principio Road approaching Ebenezer Church Road in College Green about 2:30 a.m. when the accident occurred, said Sgt. John Blades of the North East barracks. Police found open containers of alcohol in the truck, Blades said.
