A man was shot in East Baltimore shortly after midnight Saturday, according to police. Officers in the 2900 block of E. Monument St. heard gunfire and a the same time an emergency call came in reporting a shooting in the 2700 block of E. Chase Street in the city's Biddle Street neighborhood, according to police. Officers found the victim, who has not been identified, inside a home suffering a single gun shot wound to the right shoulder and medics took him to a local hospital, police said.

A surveillance camera near the East Baltimore murder scene spied a group from the Black Guerrilla Family gathered to congratulate a gang member on a job well done - a long-time rival was dead and a prior killing avenged. Henry Mills had been a BGF target since the gang started to take over the drug trade along a stretch of Greenmount Avenue years before, and he was suspected of murdering a senior BGF figure, authorities say. By 2011 Mills' insistence on running a freelance heroin operation on gang territory was too much to tolerate.

Three men were shot at about 6:40 p.m. Sunday at East 20th Street and Kennedy Avenue in East Baltimore, according to Baltimore City police. The cause of the shooting and the names of the victims were not known. One man was shot in the torso, a second in the leg and a third in his leg and stomach, police said. All men are expected to survive. A fourth man was shot in the arm and the chest at 5:30 p.m., in a robbery at a store in the 300 block of N. Warwick St. near Warwick and Franklin Streets in south Baltimore.

A 24-year-old woman was shot and killed in a public housing project in East Baltimore on Tuesday afternoon, police said. Gwendolyn Johnson was shot in the torso shortly before 4 p.m. in the 800 block of Abbott Court in the Latrobe Homes community, according to police. Johnson, of the Broadway East neighborhood, was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Police had no suspects. Two people were killed last year in the complex, which is bounded by East Madison Street and East Eager Street, with Ensor Street running through the middle.

A man was seriously injured when he was stabbed in the chest in East Baltimore on Saturday night, police said. The man, about whom police have not released any other information, was stabbed in the 2000 block of Cliftwood Avenue in the South Clifton Park neighborhood shortly before 10 p.m., police said. Police said the man's condition was stable at a hospital Sunday afternoon but did not immediately have more specific information about his status. District detectives were investigating a motive for the attack and a suspect, police said.

Baltimore police said Sunday that a woman who was shot Wednesday night has died of her injuries. Jasmine Grimes, 21, of Baltimore died an area hospital on Thursday, said Detective Jeremy Silbert, a police spokesman. Police responding to reports of a shooting around 11 p.m. Wednesday found Grimes in the 2600 block of Grogan Ave., in the city's Berea neighborhood. Police have not released a suspect description or motive, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2100. timswift@baltsun.com
