Elizabeth Crews, an employee of the Baltimore mayor's office, died Friday of cancer at Franklin Square Hospital. She was 65 and lived on Dunmanway.A mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Crews was being offered today at St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church, Dunmanway and Dunglow Road in Dundalk.A city employee for more than 30 years, she had worked for the Health Department before moving to the mayor's office.She was a former president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Dundalk.

A man found dead behind a Dundalk elementary school this week likely died of hypothermia, Baltimore County police said Wednesday. The body of Daniel Cedillo, 28, was discovered in the 7600 block of Dunmanway behind Logan Elementary School in Dundalk by a school support employee around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning, police said. The cold that morning broke records, dropping to just 3 degrees at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, with sub-zero wind chills. The medical examiner made a preliminary determination that hypothermia resulted in the death of Cedillo, of an unknown address in Baltimore, police said.

A 20-year-old man was in critical condition with a stab wound after an argument Monday morning in Dundalk, Baltimore County police said. A county police officer observed the stabbing in the 2100 block of Dunmanway and a suspect was taken into custody, police said. Earlier Monday, officers had been called to the 7300 block of Dunmanway on a report of two men arguing over a woman, police said. A police spokesman said the call was resolved and the officers left. Later Monday, an officer observed the same two men fighting in the 2100 block of Dunmanway, police said.

A toddler was hit and killed by a taxi on Liberty Parkway Friday and died in the hospital, according to Baltimore County police. Anthony Calius Sering, 4, entered the road around 6 p.m. between two parked cars and was hit by the Silver Cab of Baltimore taxi, which was traveling south near Dunmanway, according to police. The boy, who lived near the site of the incident, was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he was pronunced dead at 9:43 p.m. Police identified the driver as Jesse James Guy, 43, of the 3400 block of Parklawn Avenue.

Baltimore County police reported that they are investigating a fatal shooting by an officer Sunday morning in Dundalk. Police responded to a report of a suspicious person around 2:15 a.m. near Seaside Road and Dunmanway, said Lt. Robert McCullough, a police spokesman. Officers located the man and tried to question him, but he became combative and tried to take a gun from one of the officers, the spokesman said. Another officer, fearing for his colleague's safety, shot the man, McCullough said.

The two traveling lenders carry a combined 5,000 books and, in the larger of the vehicles, free Internet access. Check them out for summer-reading selections now that the kids are out of school. The school zone at Loch Raven Academy near Towson is one of five areas where Baltimore County Police will place a new speed camera in the coming weeks - bringing the overall speed camera tally to 22 throughout the county. County Police Chief James Johnson announced the new locations Friday. Police officials said the installation is scheduled to start in the next few days, and the five new cameras would be in addition to the 17 now operating. The new locations are: • Loch Raven Academy - Goucher Boulevard between Putty Hill Avenue and LaSalle Road.
