A 13-year-old Woodlawn High School student was struck by a passenger vehicle near the school Monday morning and transported by Medevac to Maryland Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries, according to the Baltimore County police department. Trayvon Shallomar Gore-Cromer, of the 1800 block of Alto Vista Avenue, was in serious condition Monday afternoon, said a Shock Trauma spokeswoman. Officers first responded to a call at 7:15 a.m. Monday about a male struck by a vehicle on Dogwood Road near the school, said Louise Rogers-Feher, a police spokeswoman.

A computer analyst for the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund was killed yesterday when he lost control of his car while passing another vehicle on Dogwood Road in Woodlawn and crashed into a utility pole, Baltimore County police said.Officer Roy Jarrell said George William Archie, 49, of the 9700 block of Slalom Run Drive in Woodstock was driving a 1986 Porsche 911 west in the 7400 block of Dogwood Road about 4: 12 p.m. when his auto crossed the double-yellow line while passing another vehicle.

Baltimore County police have arrested a man in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, who was reported missing nearly a year ago and whose body was found late last week in a wooded area in Woodlawn. Tyrone Lamont Webb Jr., 29, of the 3900 block of W. Forest Park Ave. was arrested Wednesday based on information gathered during an investigation by Baltimore City police detectives and county police. He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Mia Nichols, 27, a mother of three. Police said Webb was being held without bail at the county Detention Center in Towson.

SHA plans to improve roundabout A decade after the York Road roundabout opened in Towson, the intersection is on the list of improvements proposed to be funded by the state's 2009 capital budget. State Highway Administration plans call for temporarily reducing the roundabout at York, Joppa and Dulaney Valley roads and Allegheny Avenue to one lane while upgrades are made and allowing more parking on York Road from Pennsylvania Avenue south to the Towson bypass, said David Buck, an SHA spokesman.

A man who had been sought in the rape of a woman this month in the Woodlawn area has been arrested, Baltimore County police said yesterday. Reginald J. Wilson, 29, of the 2400 block of Molton Way in the county is charged with first-degree rape and a first-degree sex offense in the Jan. 11 attack, police said. Police said they were able to identify and locate the suspect after someone who recognized the person in a surveillance photo shown on television newscasts gave investigators information on how to find the man. The attack took place about 1:45 a.m., said police.
