PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. -- This was easy for Andy Dillard. It wasn't like trying to get his tour card back after losing it in 1988. It wasn't like those high-pressure matches for money, not to mention survival, back home in Texas. So what if this was the opening round of the 92nd U.S. Open? So what if this was Pebble Beach, one of the most beautiful and treacherous courses in creation? So what if he was 6-under-par after six holes?"To be honest, I never felt any pressure," Dillard said. SAN FRANCISCO -- Dillard's Inc.'s dismissal of a department store employee because she missed work to go on a religious pilgrimage was not religious discrimination, a federal appeals court has ruled. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a lower court decision that Dillard's, a 250-store chain, owed Mary Tiano more than $16,000 in back wages for refusing to restore her job when she returned from a pilgrimage to the former Yugoslavia. The three-judge panel in San Francisco ruled that Tiano, a Roman Catholic, couldn't prove religious bias because she didn't show that the timing of the pilgrimage was part of a religious calling rather than a personal preference.

Dillard, who starred for Maryland's club team during his first three years of college, was one of two players - along with Jonathan Thomas - to earn the invite to join Turgeon's squad.
