BALTIMORE -- One person was killed early today when a fire raced through a house in the 5300 block of Denmore Ave. in Pimlico.The victim, a man whose identity was withheld pending notification of relatives, was found in a room by firefighters shortly before the blaze was declared under control. It was not immediately known if the victim was a resident of the house.Reported at 3:54 a.m., the single-alarm fire quickly consumed the interior of the two-story frame dwelling, located at the corner of Denmore and Hayward avenues.

Baltimore police are asking for the public's help in finding Nakeia Cornell Bell, 17, who is charged with murder in the shooting death of an accomplice during an alleged drug robbery at a Park Heights Avenue house Nov. 5.Mr. Bell, of the 3000 block of Thorndale Ave., is charged as an adult with first-degree murder, burglary, attempted robbery and handgun violations, police said. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.The victim was killed shortly after midnight Nov. 5, when several gunmen forced their way into a house in the 4800 block of Park Heights Ave. and ordered everyone inside to lie on the floor, police said.

Anibal Brisueno had no time to waste. He grabbed his camera, dashed out the door of his Pimlico home and raced through the playground that separates Edgemere Avenue from Denmore Avenue. He wanted pictures of this event: The Denmore Apartments were coming down.Standing on one side of Denmore early last month as a bulldozer tore into the apartments on the even-numbered side of the street, Brisueno snapped photos. A smile flickered across his lips as the bulldozer ripped open yet another section of the apartments.

Baltimore police seized $72,000 in cash and $6,000 in U.S. savings bonds yesterday from the safe-deposit box of a woman on public assistance who has been charged with heading a large marijuana operation in Pimlico.A hold was put on the woman's $6,200 savings account at the Park Heights Avenue bank.Also seized were a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant and a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick, operated by the woman but registered in her mother's name.Collette Conway, 33, of the 5100 block of Linden Heights Ave. was arrested Monday at her mother's home in the 5000 block of Denmore Ave. Police said they found more than $1,600 on her.Sgt.

Unrelated shootings claimed three lives in Baltimore on Monday, with two of the shootings reported just two minutes apart.By yesterday, police had made an arrest in one case and were seeking a suspect in another.The slayings brought the number of people killed this year to 286, compared with 324 at the same time last year, when Baltimore had a record number of homicides.The latest shooting was reported to police at 9:42 p.m. An officer found the body of Donte L. Brown, 18, of the 1600 block of E. Preston St. in an alley in the 1200 block of N. Broadway in East Baltimore.
