Once the Orioles claimed second baseman Alexi Casilla off waivers from the Minnesota Twins earlier this month, it appeared that Robert Andino's days in an Orioles uniform were numbered. Instead of facing the decision of whether to non-tender Andino by the Nov. 30, the Orioles dealt the veteran infielder to the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday in exchange for outfielder Trayvon Robinson. The 25-year-old Robinson adds to the Orioles' outfield depth, and he will likely compete for a fourth outfielder spot this spring.

As long as we're revisiting Orioles pitchers of the past, it was, indeed, reliever Alan Mills who sprinted from the bullpen and decked Darryl Strawberry during the infamous brawl at Yankee Stadium that Armando Benitez incited with a fastball to Tino Martinez's back. Benitez had just allowed a home run, and his intent with the next pitch was pretty obvious to everyone. I was sitting in the press box, and my night changed dramatically. The final score no longer seemed all that important.

CLEVELAND -- This is decision time for the New York Yankees on whether they intend to bring Darryl Strawberry back to New York. Talks between the team and the suspended outfielder have hit a snag because principal owner George Steinbrenner reportedly is seeking an option year on Strawberry.Bill Goodstein, who represents Strawberry, was to speak with Steinbrenner last night, hoping to complete a deal that may be announced in Cleveland before the Yankees play the Indians tonight on ESPN.Strawberry, under suspension until June 23 for a drug after-care violation, has a hearing tomorrow with arbitrator George Nicolau to determine if he is owed back pay from the San Francisco Giants.

Last week's question:Do any teams in the AL East have a legitimate chance to catch the Boston Red Sox?YES -- 44% ... NO -- 56%"At this point, Boston is the only team in the East with a decent record. But remember we are talking about the Choke Sox here."Joseph Vavra"I was born and raised in Boston and was a die-hard Red Sox fan since I was a little boy and until I moved to Baltimore in '81. They'll fade as they always have. It's a tradition in Boston."Jay DeMarco"The Tigers are coming on strong and you can't ever count out Toronto, and while the Yankees are flopping around like a fish out of water, they're still dangerous."
