POLICE LOG* Woodland Beach: Someone broke into a 1989 Honda Accord parked in the 600 block of Darlington Road Wednesday night or Thursday morning and stole a disc radio and a car phone.

Minor storm damage was reported from the remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea in Harford County, where it rained steady most of the day. As early as 7 a.m., Carsins Run in the 600 block of North Gate Road in Aberdeen was reported to be overflowing, according to a damage summary report from the Harford County Emergency Operations Center. Also Friday morning, the 700 block of Girard Street in Havre de Grace was flooded and inaccessible, and trees were reported down on Furnace Road a half mile from Route 152 and at Franklinville Road and Sycamore Drive in Abingdon, closing the road.

Dr. Malcolm "Dudley" Phillips, a family physician in Darlington for more than five decades, died of congestive heart failure Friday night at his home in Forest Hill. He was 86. Dr. Phillips was born in Sioux Falls, S.D., but spent much of his childhood in Baltimore. He graduated from St. Paul's School in 1939, and Houghton College in New York, his family said. He helped pay for his tuition at the University of Maryland School of Medicine by working nights at Bethlehem Steel, according to relatives.
