Darla Burns scored four goals and Heather Brown added three to lead visiting Frostburg State to a 12-8 victory over Villa Julie yesterday in women's college lacrosse. The teams were tied at 5 at halftime, but the Bobcats (8-3) pulled away in the second half by outscoring the Mustangs 7-3. Brown also had four assists for Frostburg State. Heather Valunas led Villa Julie (4-10) with three goals, and Kim Gorsch and Holly Chattin added two goals each.

A 43-year-old Glen Burnie woman was killed and six other people were injured late Friday, when her car was struck head-on in Pasadena, Anne Arundel County police reported.Darla Lee Rodey, of the 1000 block of Olen Court, was traveling west on Mountain Road at Outing Avenue about 11 p.m. with her 16-year-old daughter and four of her daughter's friends in a 1992 Nissan sedan. A 1996 GMC Suburban driven by Mhamed Bouadjemi, 46, of the 600 block of Powhatan Beach Road in Pasadena, crossed the center line and struck Rodey's car before flipping over, police said.

HAMMOND ELEMENTARY is pleased to announce its roster of volunteers serving on the PTA committees. Donna Merson, Dottie Balaban, Gail Brown, Dee Levi, Nancy Trudel, Darla Trigger, Pat Baker, Frank Tesoriero, and Janet Moore are officers of the organization.Eydie Hammers, Barb Costa, Kathy Mattos, Bonnie Miller and Joyce Pope raise the money that lets the PTA operate.They sell books, run the gift wrap sales and hold a garage sale.Others are involved in collecting soup labels and grocery store receipts.

Three men, one armed with a sawed-off shotgun, overpowered a clerk at an Edgewood gasoline station about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and fled with an undisclosed amount of money, a spokesman for the Harford County Sheriff's Office said.The clerk, 37, at the Texaco station in the 1800 block of Edgewood Road told deputies that one man pointed the shotgun through an open window of the cashier's office and demanded money.The clerk, who was uninjured, said he tried to hide, but the other two men pulled him from behind the counter.
