Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 3rd from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, April 4th from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, April 5th at 10:30 a.m. at STERLING ASHTON SCHWAB WITZKE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1630 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville.

He was preceded in death by his mother Marie Arist, sisters Darla Walsh and Peggy Alourdas. He is also survived by many other family members and friends. Services were held privately.

I AM AMONG women and children uprooted by homicide. There are two babies in diapers - a 6-month-old girl asleep on a couch, oblivious to the loud television and chatter in the cramped living room, and a 20-month-old girl bobbing and weaving through human traffic, trying not to bump into a cousin or aunt. One of the aunts is 11 years old, and she's quietly eating cereal in the kitchen. She should be in school, where she once had a perfect attendance record, but she's not because of the homicide.

Darla Burns scored four goals and Heather Brown added three to lead visiting Frostburg State to a 12-8 victory over Villa Julie yesterday in women's college lacrosse. The teams were tied at 5 at halftime, but the Bobcats (8-3) pulled away in the second half by outscoring the Mustangs 7-3. Brown also had four assists for Frostburg State. Heather Valunas led Villa Julie (4-10) with three goals, and Kim Gorsch and Holly Chattin added two goals each.
