A 25-year-old was arrested after he pointed at moviegoers, pretending to have a gun, while shouting expletives at an Annapolis theater Wednesday, Anne Arundel County police said. Several witnesses described to police how Kyle Nolan Tanner, of no fixed address, walked into a showing of "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted," taking a seat in the front row and began yelling expletives toward the screen and audience at the Bow Tie Cinemas on Solomons Island Road just before 4 p.m. He left the theater twice and the last time, he began "pointing at people in the audience simulating that he had a gun" and yelling expletives at them, according to a statement from police.

As I noted Saturday, The Hunger Games movie was off to a big weekend, and the totals are huge: about $155 million. To give it some perspective, that topped the total from the Top 12 movies for all but two weekends this year, according to Box Office Mojo, which tracks these things. The adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novel ranked third all-time for opening weekend gross, behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($169.2 million) and The Dark Knight ($158.4 million)

Acting Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Barksdale has ordered increased patrols around movie theaters as a precaution following the mass shooting at a Colorado screening of "The Dark Knight Rises," police said. At least 14 people were killed and 50 wounded after a gunman burst into a theater in Aurora, Col. and opened fire on moviegoers. Police have charged a 24-year-old James Hunter in the crime. "We have no intellignece to suggest that anything horrific like that would take place in Baltimore, but at the same time we realize the propensity for copycat incidents tends to be high," said police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

The Parkville boy's parents had deemed him too young for "Tron" when it played in theaters in 1982. But he loved it when he saw it several years later on a neighbor's VHS tape. Soon, he wanted to join the new frontier of electronic bulletin boards. To post, he had to pick a moniker. "A lot of people chose aliases like Dark Knight or Thunder Hawk," he said recently. "I logged on for a week as Tron. " By the end of the week he realized there were seven or eight people in Baltimore alone using Tron.

Justice League of America is exactly the kind of movie Warner Bros. loves to make. Based on the classic DC Comics series, the script is filled with a dream team of recognizable superheroes - Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash - and could not only become its own franchise, but also could spin off individual character sequels, TV shows and merchandise. (Green Lantern Underoos, anyone?) But even a league of superheroes might not have enough special powers to repel the latest villain on Hollywood's horizon: an impending labor dispute.
