Story performer Daria Barbieri likes to introduce her young audiences to folk tales from other cultures because, she says, they enjoy the novelty and they see the connections to familiar stories and their own experiences. Barbieri, who is based in Baltimore and puts on programs all along the East Coast, will be telling folk tales from China, Japan and Korea at the Parkville Branch Library on Saturday. With lots of expressions and movement, some dancing and singing, Barbieri will share the story of the roly-poly rice ball and the tale of the stone cutter, among others.
