In addition to coach John Harbaugh saying that free safety Ed Reed would be “OK,” the Ravens have listed the seven-time Pro Bowler as probable for Sunday's contest against the Arizona Cardinals. Reed, who suffered a stinger in Monday night's 12-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, practiced Friday on a limited basis after missing Thursday's session. He practiced fully on Wednesday. Cornerback Chris Carr (left hamstring) fully participated for the second straight day and is also probable.

Right guard Marshal Yanda is active and expected to start when the Ravens take on the Cincinnati Bengals in the teams' regular-season finale at Paul Brown Stadium. Yanda had missed the previous two days of practice after suffering ribs and thigh bruises in Saturday's 20-14 win against the Cleveland Browns, but returned to practice Friday on a limited basis. Yanda, who was listed as doubtful, has not missed a start since Nov. 22, 2009. Cornerback Cary Williams is also active and in line to start.

Ravens' offseason voluntary workouts got started this morning with quarterback Joe Flacco in the building but as expected, without Pro Bowl running back Ray Rice . Rice, who isn't expected to attend offseason activities as his agent negotiates a long-term deal with the Ravens, may not be participating in strength and conditioning workouts, but he didn't remain entirely silent today. In a message posted on his Twitter feed, Rice said: "To all college athletes getting ready to enter the NFL just remember the business side of the league is rough #fact.

Four games into the season, first-round draft pick Jimmy Smith hasn't played a down at cornerback, but the Ravens' depleted secondary has, with one notable exception in Tennessee, weathered the early passing storm. With diminishing numbers in the back end Sunday against the Jets, cornerback Lardarius Webb and Cary Williams delivered a number of big plays behind the Ravens' relentless pass rush. On a night when the secondary was reduced to five functioning bodies, it was a sign of growth by both players.

Looking to add depth to their injury-riddled secondary, the Ravens have signed former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Bryan McCann to a two-year deal. "We're excited about it," McCann's agent, John Biggins, said. "We've been talking to the Ravens since he got released from the Cowboys. With the bye week, it's a good time for him to join the Ravens, get up to speed on the playbook and just go forward. We know that the Ravens are a Super Bowl-caliber team and Bryan is excited to be part of it. " To make room for McCann on the roster, the Ravens cut linebacker Prescott Burgess, who had re-signed with the team last week.

OFFENSE'S BEST PLAY During a red-zone exercise, the offense picked on free safety Tom Zbikowski, who was participating in his first practice of training camp and filling in for seven-time Pro Bowl selection Ed Reed. On two occasions, the offense matched up 6-foot-4 tight end Ed Dickson against the 5-11 Zbikowski, and both times quarterback Joe Flacco lofted high passes for Dickson to catch. ZIBBY'S REVENGE Before Flacco's second touchdown toss to Dickson, Zbikowski and cornerback Domonique Foxworth squeezed rookie wide receiver Torrey Smith in the back of the end zone, and Zbikowski intercepted Flacco's pass.

TAKE THAT KID: Undrafted free agent Justin Tucker has mostly gotten the better of incumbent Billy Cundiff in the kicking competition, but not Monday. Both were good from 29, 34, 41, 52 and 58 yards. But with the rest of the team getting into each kick, Cundiff converted from 61 yards while Tucker's attempt from the same distance sailed wide right. In fairness to Tucker, there was an issue with the snap that threw off his timing a little bit. HIM AGAIN: With what he's done in the first two preseason games, it shouldn't be a surprise that two of the three interceptions in Monday's practice were made by rookie safety Omar Brown.
