Because of a production error, the continuation of an article about judicial appointments in Baltimore that appeared on Page 3B in yesterday's Maryland section was incorrect. The following should have appeared:" 'While we are disappointed that the governor did not appoint a woman to the Court of Special Appeals, we are pleased that the governor's choices in Baltimore City reflect his concern for diversity,' said M. Brooke Murdock, president of the Women's Law Center."Ms. Dancy, 49, said she was 'delighted' with the appointment she had sought for so long.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Prosecutors seeking the death penalty for John Allen Muhammad said yesterday that the Army veteran roamed from Maryland to North Carolina in an apparent hunt to locate dozens of targets for murder - a task he documented with meticulous precision on a laptop computer that listed several "good spots" for stealthy getaways. Electronic maps discovered on the laptop showed the locations of three schools in Prince George's County - all close to the Bowie middle school where a 13-year-old boy was wounded - and included ominous notations at other places.

Isla Fisher plays Rebecca Bloomwood, the title character in Confessions of a Shopaholic, as a woman whose hand-eye coordination works at top speed only when she's grabbing for a sale item. The funny idea behind her performance is that she's so distracted by hot dreams of buying stylish goods for bargain prices that she can't keep brain and body working together. You never believe, even in a fantasy way, that Bloomwood could stumble into a job at a Manhattan-based financial magazine for a Conde Nast-like conglomerate.

"Adam" is a young-adult fantasy disguised as an offbeat romance between a man who has Asperger's syndrome, Adam Raki (Hugh Dancy), and a kindergarten teacher, Beth Buchwald (Rose Byrne), who loves him body and soul. It could have been a contender as a single-character study of Adam. As a two-hander - and a romantic dramedy, at that - it's alternately precious and awkward. The film rouses hope with its inspired, emotional stage-setting. The action begins with the death of Adam's father.
