On December 15, 2003, WILLIAMKENNETH HUFFMAN SR., of New Windsor and formerly of Arbutus and Laurel, beloved husband of Doris W. Huffman, devoted father of W. Lee Moquin, of Gaithersburg, Adreion L. Packer of New Windsor, William K. Huffman Jr., (Lillie), of Culpeper, VA, and Charles D. Huffman (Nancy) of Westminster, brother of Margaret MacDonald, Joseph B. Huffman and Duane S. Huffman. Also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorial service 2 P. M Sunday, January 25, 2004, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church Street, New Windsor.

On April 20, 2004, ALICE E. STRINE (nee Hobbs), former longtime Baltimore resident, widow of George F. Strine, mother of Eugene R., John R., Leo E., George D., and Mary M. Strine, grandmother of Darby, Derek, Heather, Leo E., Jr., J. Michael and Danny Strine, great-grandmother of eight. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, April 23, at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Warrenton, VA. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge, MD at 1:30. James Seiber, a carpenter, died Friday of a liver disease at his Catonsville home. He was 53. A homebuilder, he worked in Catonsville, Columbia, Virginia and West Virginia. Born in Pennington Gap, Va., he moved to Baltimore about 40 years ago. He attended Baltimore County public schools and began working as a carpenter's apprentice at age 16. He enjoyed outdoor activities. Funeral services are private. He is survived by Mary Louise Morris, his wife of 34 years; a son, James H. Seiber of Catonsville; three daughters, Lisa Groomes of Melrose, Carol Trentler of Essex and Wendy Hansen of Culpeper, Va.; his father, Ben Seiber of Oneida, Tenn.

Survived by sisters Hazel Cook Of Bristol, VA., Elsie Alley of Churchhill, TN., Inez Ledford of Morgantown, NC., Rue McKenney of Marion, NC., dear brother of the late Evelyn Royer and survived by sister and brothers Helen Smith, Robert Peters, Frank Peters, Morris Peters and Raymond Peters, all of Culpeper, VA., and sister Mary Hawthorne of Richmond, VA., also survived by many nieces and nephews.

For years, mixed martial art has been a man's world. But 2013 is shaping up to be the year women take the spotlight. Ronda Rousey beat Liz Carmouche in February, during Ultimate Fighting Championship's first female bout. And this weekend, Shogun Fights VIII will host the first female professional mixed martial arts fight in Maryland. On Saturday, Rosanna Garcia and Gabrielle Holloway will face off at Baltimore's 1st Mariner Arena , as the co-main event on the card - an event that could open doors for women in the sport and ultimately allow for more female professional fights locally.

A self-employed Montgomery County business consultant is being tapped to replace longtime City Manager Neal W. Powell, who is retiring.James White, 44, a financial systems and business adviser to small companies in the Washington-Baltimore corridor, has agreed to accept the $40,000-a-year post, City Attorney Thomas F. Stansfield announcedMonday night.The City Council is expected to approve his appointment before orat its monthly meeting Oct. 14, Stansfield said. White, who was unable to attend Monday's meeting, is expected to assume the post immediately after the vote.

World War II Weekend Salute the "Greatest Generation" this weekend in Reading, Pa., when the Mid Atlantic Air Museum presents its annual World War II Weekend. More than 1,000 re-enactors, 70 military aircraft and 200 restored military vehicles will re-create the sights and sounds of a World War II airfield. Visitors will see encampments with barracks, offices, shops and briefing tents of American infantry and air corps, as well as German, Russian, Polish, Canadian and British troop displays.

If you go The Marine Corps Historic Half takes place 7 a.m.-11 a.m. on Sunday. It is 13.1 miles long and will have 7,000 runners. More than 20,000 are expected to be in attendance. Keep an eye out for interesting entertainment like Stardust, a miniature horse, who will be on the course to cheer runners on.
