Potluck dinners, community gatherings and church suppers are a mainstay of Carroll life. Last Friday, one of those traditional events brought Uniontown residents and families together when they packed the Uniontown Elementary School gym for a Cub Scout Blue and Gold Dinner.Nearly 140 people celebrated the founding of the Cub Scouts organization 63 years ago and showed their support for the children who belong to local Pack 633.Nancy Cyford, chairwoman of the event and a den leader for second-grade boys, exemplifies the commitment and hard work that goes into keeping the community going through events like this one. She put in about 60 hours of work in order to make the event happen, yet made it look easy.
