A five-car crash at the Bay Bridge caused traffic delays on Route 50 Sunday afternoon. The crash on eastbound Route 50 at the bridge was reported at about 2:30 p.m. The left lane on the eastbound span was closed for nearly an hour. One person was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, said 1st Sgt. Jonathan Green, a spokesman for the Maryland Transportation Authority Police. By 3:50 p.m., traffic was backed up about three miles approaching the bridge, Green said.

All lanes have been reopened on the westbound Bay Bridge with the clearing of an early morning accident with injury on Wednesday, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. MdTA first reported the multi-vehicle crash at 3:53 a.m., stating that the left and center lanes were blocked. At around 7:30 a.m., MdTA reported that units were clearing the accident and delays stretched two-and-a-half miles. MdTA reported the crash cleared around 8:04 a.m. A crash with injury on I-95 South at Exit 35 - MD 216/Scaggsville Road has the left lanes and left shoulder closed at 9:30 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation.

A Virginia man riding a motorcycle was killed after being struck by a car in Anne Arundel County on Sunday afternoon, police said. Police identified the man who was killed as Jonathan Wesley Roberts, 30, of Aylett, Va. Police say he was struck by a Chevy Cobalt driven by Elizabeth H. A collision Tuesday evening in Pasadena has left a 46-year-old motorcyclist hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Police found James Lloyd Geiser of Glen Burnie lying in the roadway shortly before 7 p.m. at the accident scene. The crash occurred at the intersection of Fort Smallwood and Solley roads, near Riviera Beach. The victim had been driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Fort Smallwood Road, when he attempted a left hand turn onto Solley Road. The victim failed to yield the right of way to southbound vehicles and turned into the path of a Ford Escort, which struck the motorcycle, police said.

A motorcycle rider was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore Sunday night after he was injured in a crash with a car at the intersection of the Bel Air Bypass and Conowingo Road in Bel Air. Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association, said the victim, who was in serious condition, was taken to the hospital by a Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company medic unit. Gardiner said first responders were alerted at 7:53 p.m. Sunday.

A Baltimore police vehicle was in a collision Saturday afternoon at an East Baltimore intersection, police said. Around 5 p.m. the police cruiser and another car crashed at Chester Street and Ashland Avenue in the Middle East community, according to police spokesman Det. Donny Moses. Both drivers were taken to area hospitals with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, he said. Police are investigating the crash, and Moses said he did not know who was at fault.

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle collision Sunday evening at the intersection of Routes 1 and 152 in Fallston, Maryland State Police said. Two highway workers under contract to the state were killed Wednesday morning along Pulaski Highway in Northeast when a car plowed into a marked construction zone, state police said. Investigators reported that around 9 a.m., a 2006 Ford Focus westbound on Pulaski Highway near Belvidere Road crossed into the work zone and struck the two workers. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene by Cecil County emergency medical staff. Police identified the victims as Luis E. Tadeo, 42, of the 1500-block of Palai Turn of Bowie, and Victor D. Jackson, 41, of the 5500-block of Hunt Place, NE in Washington.

Anne Arundel County police have identified the third victim of a fiery two-vehicle collision in Severn Wednesday night. Curtis Lee Matthews, 60, of Severn was a passenger in the sports utility vehicle that burst into flames when it was hit head-on by a pick-up truck, Anne Arundel County police said. He, along with the driver of the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the two vehicles were identified Thursday as Jessica Lynn Ray, 26, of Severn and Preston Alonzo Matthews, 57, of Hanover.

SPA, Belgium — Blood was seeping from Andy Schleck, from his arms and legs and off some parts of his brother Frank too. On a rainy, slippery Belgian road the brothers from Luxembourg splattered themselves across the pavement, caught up in one of several crashes in Monday's second stage of the Tour de France. After some minutes Andy Schleck, among the favorites, rose slowly. He was cradling his arm and climbed back on his bike as if propelled by remote control and not his senses.
