Perhaps it was a prank or a desire for an unique Ocean City souvenir, but either way, a portrait of the founder of the Dunes Manor Hotel that hung in the lobby is missing and the hotel wants it back. Police said the hotel reported the theft of the painting depicting Dunes Manor founder Thelma Conner early Sunday morning. The picture went missing sometime during the night, around 3 a.m., when a hotel security guard noticed it was gone. Conner, who founded the Victorian-style hotel in 1987 at the age of 74, is a beloved figure in Ocean City . She was known for her Texas twang and her tea-time tradition.

Fells Point corner establishment Todd Conner's has been around for a number of years and up to this point, never registered on my radar as a place that had a cocktail list. To be fair, it does, in fact, have one. But it's fairly new so it's my fault for not stopping by more often. I'll take my punishment later - no time like the present to enjoy some recently created, frequently rotating libations courtesy of the ol' Todd. Todd Conner's new-ish cocktail program is spearheaded by bartender Paull ("with two Ls")

In Fells Point, everyone knows Todd Conner's is a Steelers bar. Nearby, Sticky Rice Bmore is a true-purple Ravens-supporting establishment. On Sunday, with the Ravens in Pittsburgh, partisans of the two bars will square off for a day-long "Rumble of the Rivals," a benefit to help people affected by Hurricane Sandy in the communities of Ocean County, N.J. To keep the daylong competition friendly, organizers of the event have come up with a set of elaborate and ridiculous rules that no one could possibly keep track of or take seriously.

And for as long as the 5-foot-10, 160-pound point guard can remember, he's been a diehard fan of his hometown college hoops team. Lipinski “never really thought” he'd have a shot at playing for Maryland, but the AACS star found himself at Comcast Center on Monday with that seemingly unlikely possibility on the table. “I went down for a practice … [and]

There was no better place for fourth-ranked Eastern Tech to launch its latest run toward a state football title than where the Mavericks last night spent the majority of their time eluding defenders. On the ground. The Baltimore County power racked up 233 yards rushing, including 88 yards and two touchdowns by senior Darian Conners, in a 31-6 win over Poly in a Class 2A North semifinal at CCBC-Essex. "We just want to get back to the state championship," said Conners, whose team lost to River Hill in the title game a year ago. "We're all seniors now. We want to finish off with that ring and go out with a bang."
