The oft-changing plans of the networks for their new fall seasons now find NBC, ABC and CBS - the big three - in agreement at least: The start of the season will be delayed from Monday to Sept. 24. That means plans to begin 10 new series next week have been scrapped in the aftermath of terrorist attacks on New York and Washington. The only network sticking with its plan to start a new series next week is Fox, which will premiere Undeclared, a series about college life, on Tuesday. Fox will also air the premiere of Love Cruise: The Maiden Voyage, which had been slated to air last week, on Tuesday.

One might say stand-up comedian Jeff Charlebois is a contradiction in terms. The reason? He delivers his jokes sitting down -- from a wheelchair.Mr. Charlebois, who was paralyzed in a car accident when he was 16, said he aims to make his audiences more at ease with the disabled and to help them realize that "people in wheelchairs do have a sense of humor and are just like everybody else."He entertained a lunchtime gathering of students and faculty members at Carroll Community College this week.

"Mickey One," this week's oddly riveting revival choice at the Charles, carries the name of a production company, Tatira, that would never be credited again. It was a company that the movie's star, Warren Beatty, set up for this one movie. He named it for his mother, Kathlyn, nicknamed Tat, and his father, Ira Beaty (just one t). They brought their kids up in Virginia. But they actually met in Lutherville. Yes, the same suburb that gave us John Waters can also claim some ownership of Warren Beatty.

It's not enough to give Stefon Diggs more touches this season. Maryland coaches also want to give him more of a leadership role. Coach Randy Edsall said after Friday night's spring game that the team has named the receiver-returner as one of 10 members of its leadership council. The team won't use permanent captains in the fall. Rather, it will name captains game by game. It sounds like Maryland really wants Diggs invested in the team. Not that he wasn't last season. But it's difficult for freshmen - still transitioning to college life - to play leadership roles.
