Don't like lacrosse? Move to another state In response to the letter of March 2 titled "Lacrosse not worthy of excessive coverage," please advise the writer of a few facts. The "four-state area" is quite interested in lacrosse, as it holds all the college lacrosse championships. With the introduction of lacrosse at the Division I level in many other areas of the United States, hopefully, The Sun will not be the only paper to carry articles about lacrosse. It should be suggested to the writer that he should move to Iowa in wrestling season and Florida or California for the baseball season.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association has become so protective of its rights deal that an NCAA official revoked the credential of a Louisville Courier-Journal reporter and ejected him from the press box on Sunday for blogging from the University of Louisville baseball field during a super-regional game.

George Horton ran a college baseball powerhouse at Cal State-Fullerton, the kind of program that had no place for someone like Kurt Suzuki. Horton had never seen or heard of Suzuki before a scout pal mentioned the high schooler in Hawaii. "We didn't know a whole heck of a lot about him," Horton said. "We heard from our network of friends that this little catcher from Maui wanted to come and walk on at Fullerton. " On an island with 160,000 permanent residents, Suzuki played against five or six high schools.
