One of two eastbound lanes of Main Street in front of Westminster's Fire Department will be closed tomorrow so work crews can remove gasoline tanks from the firehouse, police said.The tanks, lying under concrete, will be moved to the new firehouse under construction on John Street. The new facility is expected to open next month.The left-turn lane will be open for eastbound traffic, police said."The Fire Department anticipates that the work will take no more than a day to complete," said Police Chief Sam R. Leppo.

The State Highway Administration will close a bridge on Route 175 that crosses over the Odenton MARC station from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. tomorrow as road crews replace steel girders in the bridge, SHA officials said.In the case of inclement weather, the bridge will be closed for the same hours Tuesday, officials said.The bridge work is part of a $1.6 million project that will add a 12-foot-wide center turn lane on the four-lane bridge, widen an east-side sidewalk by a foot and create a 3-foot-wide shoulder on the west side of the bridge.

Memorial Day closings announced Carroll County Government offices will be closed tomorrow for Memorial Day. Carroll County public libraries, senior centers and public schools will be closed tomorrow. Northern Landfill and the Recycling Center also will be closed tomorrow. Motorists reminded to buckle up Carroll County Sheriff's Deputies will be out in extra force during the Memorial Day weekend to protect motorists from impaired, aggressive and unsafe drivers. The Sheriff's Office is alerting motorists that in addition to the "Click It or Ticket" seat belt enforcement initiative, a saturation patrol will be in place throughout the weekend to identify and remove impaired drivers from the road.

Numerous streets in downtown Baltimore and Mount Vernon will be closed tomorrow for the city's annual Columbus Day parade, which is to begin at 2 p.m. at N. Charles and Centre streets. The parade will proceed south on Charles, east on Pratt Street, south on President Street and east on Fleet Street. It will disband along Central Avenue. According to the city's Department of Transportation: Closed from noon to 4 p.m.: Charles from Madison Avenue to Franklin Street; Mount Vernon Place from Cathedral to St. Paul streets; Centre from Cathedral to St. Paul; Central Avenue from Fleet to Bank streets; Charles from Mt. Vernon Place to Conway Street; Pratt from Charles to President; President from Pratt to Fleet; and Fleet from President to Central.
