In September, Habakkuk Music, a Christian gospel label, was launched with the release of its first artist, Jessica Greene of Baltimore. Her CD, 4 the World, includes lyrics that make you think and have your head bobbing at the same time. Her contemporary gospel-music album deals with weighty issues such as premarital pregnancy, molestation and the promises of God. For example, one of the tracks on the CD is "Searching," which is about looking for love, but in all the wrong places. "It's about dealing with issues as they are. I know that God is good.

A Westminster man accused of threatening two neighbors with a pistol after he was asked to turn down loud music is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail at Carroll County Detention Center.Garland D. "Hank" Powers, 53, is charged with two counts each of first-degree assault and reckless endangerment and three weapons counts.Charging documents said a woman living in a Sullivan Road apartment building went to a fellow resident's door to request that the music be turned down.The woman said the man refused and yelled, drawing the attention of another neighbor in the building, the report said.

The husband-and-wife ministers could do little but watch last night as their Glen Burnie church was largely destroyed in a four-alarm fire.But even as firefighters hosed down the last flames in the rubble of the 50-member Community Church of God on Fifth Avenue S.E., the Rev. W. David Harness said its work would go on -- starting at 11 a.m. today, with services moved to the living room of his home next door."
