She is survived by loving grandchildren, Deborah Janes and her husband Dan, Patricia Kenney and her husband Mel, James DeNolfi, John Appel and family and a great-granddaughter Amanda Janes. On Thursday, July 2, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer of Silver Spring and Baltimore, MD. Beloved wife of Dr. Edward A. Sausville; loving mother of Justin, Brendan, Elizabeth, Rebecca, and Paul Sausville, cherished grandmother of Matthew and Benjamin Sausville; beloved sister of Gerry Cassidy, Marie Greening and the late George Cassidy; daughter-in-law of Kristin Sausville. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Carol graduated in English from the College of Mt. Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY and attended the masters program at Fordham University in New York City.

J OHN A. CARBONARA, 84, of Baltimore, MD, passed away June 29, 2009 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, NJ. John was a life-long resident of Baltimore and had been very active in St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church and Little Italy. He served in the United States Army Air Corp in China, Burma, India Theatre during World War. For many years John was a printer for the Social Security Department in Baltimore, before his retirement. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday 11 A.M at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church.

Geraldine H. "Gigi" Rodgers, a former educator and longtime Towson resident, died Wednesday of a stroke at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care. She was 89. Geraldine Hardy was born in Baltimore and raised on University Parkway. After graduating from Seton High School in 1938, she work as a model briefly in Baltimore and New York City. During the 1950s and 1960s, she taught kindergarten at Towson Epson Chapel School and at the old Woodvale Elementary School in Riderwood. In 1941, she married Patrick A. Rodgers, an executive with Cloverland Farms Dairy, who died in 1968.
